Monster PC Thread - "Help me combine it!"

Thread Starter
Hello everyone,

Since this is my first post, I will briefly introduce myself. I am a 17 years old boy from The Netherlands. As I am currently running a kind of a PC you wouldn't even take if it were free, I feel to be in the right place to ask for help. Yes, a originally Pentium 4, 3.0.4 GhZ, 512MB RAM, 128V-RAM piece of. I liked to game alot until this PC wouldn't run like a retard anymore on new games, so I quit!

I have looked a lot on internet for the best Motherboard, Graphic Cards, Processor and Power Supply. After hours of bragging I have come to the conclusion that there are too many options, because I can't actually test the setups.

Although from reviews I take that ASUS motherboards, nVidia Graphic Cards, Intel i7 2600k Sandy Bridge processor, Cooler Master UCP Ultimate 900W PSU is quite the best.

Since this is a once in a 5-year investment, I would love to have your opinions on what components I should put in my rig, even the motherboard, I am putting my Monster PC in your hands from scratch.

Requirements for my rig:
- Don't look at the budget, just go for best performance.
- It really has to be the best.
- I don't mind even if you put a Server Motherboard inside including server processors and bla di bla. (Since I read that server motherboards have multiply processor sockets, this will probably be very uneconomical (but again, don't look at the budget), so this will be sick gaming performance.

Please include the following in your post:
- Motherboard
- Graphics Card
- Processor (& a Perfect Cooler)
- RAM Modules (even if it is tri-channel)
- PSU
- make this list as complete as possible, like a Computer Case, Blu Ray Drive, USB Kit, Card Readers.

Just make the best out of it, but hey - no fantasy components, it has to be possible!

Ciao, Peace-Out, Challaz muchos thankyous and love,
Inder

Since he wants the best, let's also add in:
6970 4 way crossfire (since were limited to 3 way sli)
A little Devil PC case or a CaseLabs case or an XSPC h2, or a corsair obsidian 800D or a Lian Li x2000, or a Silverstone TJ11
A nice Creative or Asus sound card
HP ZR30w x 3
throw in a few waterblocks, a few TFC monstas, hey idk maybe those expensive aquasos CPU water blocks and we have the best of the best?

I'm seriously thinking ultra troll post and idc are whatever foreign currency us being handed out.

This is all well and good.
But how much money are you actually looking to spend?
A 2500k, GTX570, Seasonic MD12II 620w, 8GB DDR3 2133 would be great AND affordable.

Looking to spend between 4000 and 5000 euro's, depending on the "age depreciation rate of the hardware". Thanks for replies so far, except Spykerv. I think you get my point? How expensive can a computer be?

Another thing, I am not buying my hardware at a store, getting it from the "Groothandel?" The big store for professionals where shops buy their parts from. So it is much cheaper, for example I am getting the 2600k Sandy Bridge i7 for 193,95 Euro's, same in shops for around 270 Euro's.

Alrighty then:

Asus Rampage III Formula LGA 1366
Three GTX 590s
Intel 990X Six-Core i7 LGA 1366
2 sets of: Corsair Dominator GT 12GB DDR3 2000 (6 sticks, 24GB Total)
Thermaltake Level 10 Case
Silverstone ST1500 PSU
OCZ Vertex 3 120GB SSD (However many you feel like getting)
LG Blu-Ray Burner
NVidia 3D Vision kit
Three Samsung T27A950 3D 27" Monitors

Cooling:
Non-Custom: Corsair H100
Custom: Not sure.

Correct me if I am wrong, but you may not be able to get a faster gaming PC.

Here's my take:

Intel i7-2600k + Corsair H100 CPU Liquid Cooler
Asus Maximum IV EXTREME
16GB of RAM 4 x 4GB DDR3-1600
HAF 932
Samsung Spinpoint F3 1TB HDD
Crucial M4 128GB SSD
MSI Twin Frozr II 580 x 3 TRI-SLI
Samsung Blu-ray Drive
Corsair AX1200

You didn't mention if you needed any accessories and what resolution you will be gaming at.

yes ... black edition

Thermaltake Level 10 Case = sux , littledevil case (i hate cube cases) for the 2x 120x4 xspc rads for cooling the 3 cards , and a 120x4 top for CPU and Chipset coolin .

Heatkiller for CPU , chipset EK and GPU too , btw , with that case , dual loop it , 1 will be CPU and chipset and 2 will be the 3 590's

i think that 580's 3gb would be better i think , with all the bugs the 590 have and probably poor support , its better off with 3 x 580 3gb

OC the CPU and GPU like crazy mad = You have enough technology to play all the games full ress for like 3-6 years lol , since my 8800gtx and 280gtx still plays today's game almost full

some mods would be good , lappin chips , and some Coollab liquid ultra to CPU and gpu , some shinetsu for all bare chips

u would have a pretty uber PC if u ask me now what will impress me is how u overclock it and how stable it is

EDIT

its probably better to RAID some velociraptor 150gb than those SSDs , SSDs wont last ;_; , those raptors now come in SATA III and less platters too , it would be better , close to 250mb transfers i think

and a socket 1155 wont be bad ether , u could save some cash there , easly 600$ , BUT my suggestion is , wait for the 2011 or whatever the new socket is http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LGA_2011

You really want to get SSD's instead of Raptors, trust me.
