I have a copy of S.T.A.L.K.E.R: CoP and i havent ever gotten to play it because it takes sooo ling to load. I look at amd.com and find this.

Known issues under the Windows 7 operating system
The following section provides a summary of open issues that may be experienced under the Windows 7 operating system in the latest version of AMD Catalystâ„¢. These include:
•STALKER - Call of Pripyat may randomly hang when entering a new or saved game.
•Random corruption may be observed when running the Unigine Heaven benchmark in Fixed High Performance mode.
•F1 2010 may randomly hang on application launch.
•Battlefield – Bad Company 2 may randomly hang after a period of game play.
•Dungeon Siege 3 may randomly hang on application launch.
•Dead Rising 2 may randomly hang on application launch.
•Random flashing may be observed while playing F1 2010 and Dirt 2.

Is there any way to fix this? I would really hate to have a game I paid for go to waste because AMD doesnt fix it. I have had this problem since I bought the game when Catalyst 11.2 was new.

You should also check to see if Steam itself, not Stalker, is trying to run in Vista compatibility mode. It's an issue that affects many people, I went from a 24 minute load time to a 30 second load time after disabling Vista compatibility mode. No one's been able to figure out why it was ever enabled in the first place.

Your issue might be different, but, It's worth checking out.

Ok I'll have to download the game again because it made me mad so I just uninstalled it. I'll see if it is the vista problem.
