I would say go for an AsRock Z68 extreme4 instead. I have heard of a lot of issues with MSI motherboards lately.

Even better.

AsRock is owned by asus, so even though they are lesser known than MSI, they have the same level of quality as ASUS, strong VRMs, and amazing value for money.

I say go for the Gen3

Big tip, dual channel is best with sandy bridge. So find 2 8gb sticks.

What? They don't sell 8gb sticks at the normal consumer level. 4x4 is still dual channel.

Really? I thought it only supported dual channel trough 2 sticks for now...either that or I completely misunderstood the presentation.

Nope. dual channel means 2 sticks. Sandy bridge uses dual channel, and X58 uses triple channel.

So you can use 2 or 4 sticks of RAM with sandy bridge, and 3 or 6 with X58. Thats why there are 4 slots for RAM on the motherboards.

Would it be worth getting the 2600k due to rendering etc. with audio?
