GTX 560 Ti Resolution problems

Thread Starter
So I have a 560 ti and I try to change the resolution of games from 1080p to 720p to check the FPS changes and just to see. But whenever I change it the screen is all stretched across the screen and does not create a 720p screen. Or the monitor says "input is not supported:

It's like im running 720p on my 1080p monitor but its stretched. (on my old ati card the resolution would shrink to its size and leave a black outline where the monitor is not in use for the game.)

I have the latest nvidia drivers.

Any help would be great.

Are you changing the res through Nvidia control panel or through Display Properties - settings?

Switch back to older drivers. I have a 460 and that worked better for me. There is something wrong with these new drivers. Search the forums here you'll see.

I have the nvidia control panel and display properties set at 1080p because that is the computers default (it was set automatically). But when I go into a game (like crysis or BFBC2) and I try to make the resolution smaller like 720p I get "input not supported' or the screen is stretched and It won't create a black outline on the screen and make the resolution the correct size.

Note: Changing the aspect ratio wont work.

Do you have your monitor listed as the default monitor ins display propertiers - settings?

Are there drivers for your monitor and are they loaded (I found that one out the hard way )

Yes it's the only monitor connected to the computer and is the default.

I just loaded the latest drivers for my monitor and it doesn't seem to work.

EDIT: I just ran through crysis and every resolution will work except 720p.

Did you reboot the compy after loading the monitor drivers just now?

Have you tried changing the res in Display Properties - settings?

Do you have Nvidia driver 266.xx handy?
