Just a little over 2 days and my MSI 890S-G54 broke, the Bios wouldn't keep it's settings and the turbo feature would screw with my cpu 1100T. I had to return the board as defective. So sometimes rumors about products can be true, this board really doesn't perform with 125w chips and it was never ment to use x6 CPUS. Anyways I bought an Asus M5A97 evo and this board is a dream.

Hey guys!

Is it alright if I ask questions here? Or do i have to join the group first?

Thanks! There's my CPU-Z validation, I think that should be it though the clock speed is all over the place right now.

Really liking this board! Been using it for a good long while now.

I really do love how easy it is to overclock with this one.

Recently though, I just upgraded from a AMD 905e to an AMD 1090t processor. And a bunch of my programs started going haywire and blue screening like crazy.

Event Viewer has been spitting out errors like this:

A corrected hardware error has occurred.

Reported by component: Processor Core
Error Source: Corrected Machine Check
Error Type: Cache Hierarchy Error
Processor ID: 4 (varies from 1-4)

The details view of this entry contains further information.

And this:

The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x00000050 (0xfffffa7fddf65785, 0x0000000000000000, 0xfffff800032dc7ed, 0x0000000000000007). A dump was saved in: C:\Windows\MEMORY.DMP. Report Id: 010812-16863-01.

The 0x00000050 usually varies a bit but its always a bugcheck error resulting in several blue screens.

The frustrating part is that it's completely random. Computer's working fine one moment then BAM, constant blue screens.

All BIOS overclock settings are set to AUTO. Optimized and fail-safe defaults have been tried to no avail.

I personally think it might be the PSU considering i have a 450W video card + 125W cpu running on a 500W PSU.

Any thoughs?

Cheers!

Well it usually maxes out at 3800ish mhz. It's all on auto so i'm guessing that's idling speed.

Okay, to be safe, can you reset your CMOS to ensure that everything is reset to stock?

If you don't know how to do this, just post back!
