ASRock Z68 Extreme3 Gen3

Thread Starter
Hey OCN,

I noticed this motherboard guessing its one of the new PCI 3.0 ready boards.

What I dont quite understand is the price. VS same specced Asus/msi/gigabyte its between 20-70 euros cheaper. At 123 euros.

Only looking for a possible OC on the CPU to about 4-4.2 Ghz on 2500k, SLI ready no OCs on any other hardware.

Was opting to go for MSI GD65 first seems like a very solid Board.

You guys reccon the ASRock Z68 Extreme3 Gen3 is a good deal at its very low price ?

You guys do realize that ASRock makes fantastic motherobards, right? Just because they don't say ASUS, Gigabyte, or MSI doesn't mean they spontaneously combust. ASRock quality has gotten even better since they split with ASUS

Had a friend buy this board yesterday, waiting on it for a build this week. It looks awesome and ASRock has a good reputation as far as I can see. We'll see how well it works, but I can tell you already it's the best looking 1155 board I've seen.

ASRock is win.

Just remember OP, the E3G3 doesn't have some features that it's higher priced brethren have, for example, USB 3.0 header. Otherwise, it should be an excellent board. At the price, I think it's meant to replace the Pro 3 series.

It's a great board. ASRock is a fine company now that ASUS isn't telling them what to make any more.

I just wish I held off for like another 2 weeks so I could get this E3G3 instead of the Pro 3. It's just so sexy looking! Meh oh well. smile.gif

anyone having succes with manually overclocking on this board? The automatic stuff works but as soon as i configure stuff manually = boot/post fail.

the fact is that these boards yes do what they are advertised to do, for how long and how easily, well that is what you pay for extra in other brands.

I have nothing against Asrock, they have prob the best bang for your buck, just not something id put in my computer, but i am picky.
