Up to what point you want to get your cpu to?
I do not believe that pushing the chip more that 4.5-4.7Ghz will icrease the performance in real world applications
Also if you want to give it a go try 45Xmutli with 1.32 and see if it is stable dont hesitate 1.32 is nothing if temps are below 75 degrees.
Try it and tell me the results

I am on 4.0 Ghz stable with 1.23 voltage and I was at 4.3 Ghz with 1.295 voltage NOT stable in blend test. That's why I am a bit curios if I reached the limit because it is a huge jump in voltage compared to the multiplier. I can only test it properly on the weekends because I need to work all the time. I am going to give it a try this friday biggrin.gif

Well all cpu's are different in terms of overclock ability for example I need 1.29 for 4.5 and 1.34 for 4.6 and 1.37 for 4.8
In other words my chip's sweet spot is 4.5 and that is the reason why I don't push it more.
There is no reason to go past 4.5 when running games or render programs.

Id be suprised if your chip cant run p95 at 4.3ghz and 1.295v, what is the voltage showing under load? Also is this during the 1344/1792 test or during the custom blend test?
The 1344 AND 1792 tests can run at 1.29 but blend test didn't pass so I raised it to 1.295 but it still fails. Will try 1.3 on Friday. I am not sure about voltage under load (since I didn't write everything down like you said frown.gif ) but I think it said 1.28

Hey guys so i tried to do 5.0ghz today at 1.48v, wouldnt boot without enabling Internal PLL Overvoltage (is this safe?). Failed Intel Burn Test at that voltage so i decided not to try going up any higher. Getting closer and closer to 1.5v makes me cringe...

I also tried 4.9ghz at 1.45v with no PLL Overvoltage, and it boots but fails Intel Burn Test.

The only stable OC i can get now is 4.8ghz @ 1.42v. I originally had it at 4.8ghz @ 1.38v but over the course of a year and a half ive been slowly increasing my voltage for a quick remedy to BSOD 124 (raise vcore).

Each time i raise voltage by 0.01v after a BSOD 124, i pass an 18 hour Prime 95 test. So i guess that is my main remedy to BSOD 124.

So what do you guys think, this chip cant achieve 5.0ghz unless i go 1.50v and above, and it will require at least 1.47-1.5v just for 4.9ghz..... So should i just sell this chip and see if i can get my hands on another one? Whats the "average" voltage needed for a 5.0ghz OC? Im not expecting my chip to be golden or anything, i have 120.6 in radiators and plan on doing 120.10 but heat isnt even a problem because i cant even OC to 5.0ghz....

Frustrating.

I did a good job last night using this tutorial. Got to 4.6 GHz stable at 1.35 volts. Here is the cpuz link.

For the last year or so i've been running 4.5ghz with my 2600k using these settings.

(ASUS P8Z68-V Mobo)

LLC - Regular (0%)
C-States - Enabled
EPU - Max
Offset - +0.055
Everything else default.

Gives me a vcore of 1.336

I did some mucking around after finding this thread and using Silents advice on Asus motherboards and ended up stable with LLC - Ultra High, C-States auto, EPU - off, Offset -0.045

Also gives me a vcore of 1.336, benchmarks are also exactly the same with Cinebench R15.0 - 751 CPU score

EDITED: to include benchmark

Should I just bump the DRAM Voltage to try to stabilize it? They're rated for 1.5V. BIOS is set to AUTO and reads them running currently at 1.521V.

Try setting the ram at 1.5v manually or use the xmp profile is your ram supports it.
