Hi Guys,

Really, updating the firmware is really easy. You just download the file, unzip it, and burn it to a cd. Then set you drive to IDE and boot off the cd. In minutes it is finished. I updated to 0002 and 0009 without issue. And, I am running raid0.

Hey everyone, I'm not sure if this is the right place but since we are all discussing Crucial SSD's, I just pulled the trigger on two M4 64gb SSD's for raid-0 on my P67 rig. I'm pretty stoked but I've never done a raid setup before with SSD's...is there anything I should know?

Hi,

I have set up 3 rigs with M4s in raid0. It is simple. You will have to have the raid driver on a cd or thumb drive at the installation of the OS. I assume W7 64. It is rather straight forward. You will be shocked at the speed of loading. It is like moving from 56K dial up to 10M Internet. You will never go back. I think the keyboard is the last of the non-solid-state items in our PCs. In raid0 you will see 950+ Mbps reads. Amazing.

you should experiment with striping size.

i got a better as ssd score with 4k than I did 128k (about 8% better iirc). your mileage may vary which is why should you experiment.

The only thing you should know is that this is the speed you are gonna get with p67. Make sure you use intel sata 3 ports instead of marvell.

well with all said and done and fresh installs of windows on both my laptop with force gt no boots into windows faster than my desktop with m4... that just seems wrong.
