Corsair AX850 vs TX850 vs TX850M - Page 2

Indeed, also the AX doesn't spin up the fan at all under low load conditions which I assume further differentiates it from the others.

AX850 is amazing. Fan doesn't spin on when less than 20% of draw is used or the ambient temps in the case are 40 C. It's definitely a nice feature..

As exhausted the modular design is amazing.. The overall quality of the AX850 alone is worth getting.. Corsair makes nice PSUs so any of those choices wouldn't be terrible!

Well, it's a moot point now, but the TX M are not based off of the V2. The TX M are by CWT, DSG design--so similar to the Corsair HX750/850 units but built a little cheaper and with fewer modular cables, with 80 plus bronze instead of silver.

First sentence in the description, it says based off of the V2

Then they were misinformed. It's a Channel Well DSG.

As Corsair has said in the past, they don't consider the product to be a particular platform/design but rather a unit built to a certain spec and reliability. (this issue came up with the unannounced TX -> TX-C change) Particularly in the RAM business, supply of ICs comes and goes. They don't tie products to chips only from a certain supplier, batch, and spec.

"Based on" here should maybe be taken with a looser meaning. It's based on the type of performance you would expect of the TX V2. Apparently in reality they use CWT DSG to achieve that.

If you can order from Newegg, they have a promo code for 10% off the AX850, CORSAIR10AUG. Plus there is a $20 rebate, so you get almost $40 off.

Oh and modular cables are worth the price of admission alone, I will never go back to dealing with hiding non-modular cables.

yeah, that's what I used to order the AX850 : )

So the tx850M is not seasonic... -.-, first bad thing I've seen from corsair : /, misinformation

- Just for those curious, I didn't consider the hx850 in my choice because i didn't like the extended length, it would have made it hard to mount the 2 fans at the bottom of my case
