HD 6900 Series 2x DVI 1x HDMI

Thread Starter
Probably a stupid question, but I can't figure out how to get all three of my displays going at once. In the Catalyst Control Center, I'm only able to enable 2 of the displays at once - every time i try to enable the 3rd it disables my 2nd and takes its place. I have:

-1 widescreen LCD connect to my 1st DVI port on my card (main)
-1 standard 4:3 (2nd) that is connected to my 2nd DVI port
-1 LCD TV that is connected via HDMI.

Any suggestions?

You can only use 2 of those 3 ports at any one time. To run 3 displays you need to use at least 1 mini DP otherwise it will not work.

Hey man, I noticed you dont have your sig rig filled out. Go into user CP and click add system on the side. This lets you set up the signature rig like most of members have filled out. (look at mine tongue.gif) It's really helpful if you ever have a problem with hardware or something.

Skuloth is rite - you have to use at least 1 DP output if you have a standard card so you would have to purchase a active display port to dvi converter if you monitor does not have a DP input. But what is much easier is getting one of sapphires flex cards which pretty much have a built in converter so there is no need for external converters smile.gif

Sorry to bump this old thread, but I'm now trying to give the 3 display setup another go, this time with a DVI - HDML cable connected to my TV. I'm pretty sure I need a DVI splitter, but after some research it sounds like it might not be that easy so I'm asking you guys what you'd suggest.

My current setup:

DVI - 19" 4:3 Monitor
DVI - 22" Monitor

So I want to split on of those DVI ports so I can connect TV, is there a particular splitter I should be looking for?

Thanks

You can not use both DVI ports at the same time with HDMI. It will not work. If you want to get it working, this is the configuration to follow;

LCD HDMI, HDMI > HDMI > 6900.

19" Monitor, DVI > Upper DVI Port > 6900

22" Monitor, DVI > DVI - Mini DP Active Adapter > 6900.

This is the adapter to get, not the splitter. Do not get other adapter but this one guaranteed to work with Eyefinity.

Thanks for the reply. So is a dvi splitter even possible with the 6900?

There's no point if you are talking about multiport adapter, that will set you back around $200. The active adapter is only going to cost you $30.
