Dual Pentium II/III Build Log! [I think I just found the SR-2 of the old days...] - Page 29

Maybe two slocket-adapter CPUs that match would work together? I don't know. I remember reading somewhere that slocket adapters don't play nice with this chipset. Although, I could very well be mis-informed.

You're really making me miss my old server rig. frown.gif Lost it in my storage unit (couldn't pay the unit, so I let them auction it).

The specs on my old rig:
Abit VP6 Dual 370 Board
Dual Socket 370 P3's 1.0GHz (133x7.5) overclocked to 1.25GHz, 166 x 7.5
2GB ECC Registered PC133 (4x512MB)
2x250GB IDE drives in RAID0 (PCI RAID controller)
1x 80GB OS Drive
Voodoo 3 AGP card
All in a Chieftec Dragon case (modders should know this case very well)

May she be still alive in somebody's home still. frown.gif

Pictures:
This is where she sat, directly to the right of my main rig at the time:

Inside View, showing off the dual CPU's:

Sadly that's all the pictures I've got of it. If I still had that rig, I'd be benching off with you for comparison, and donating it myself too. smile.gif

doooon't listen to these guys.... the main platform in which sockett 370 convertors were used was the motherboards with 440-series chipset..

I have my dual tuallie 1400-s plus 4 gigs of ecc ram plus a WIP with two amd bartons 2800 + 4gigs of non ecc ram so at least I have a little idea of vintage hardware biggrin.gif

as I said b4: pleeease someone buy two of those converted tualatins! They will even rock pentium 4s with RDRAM by a large margin

Nah I won't be giving it all away but there isn't a whole lot profit to be had from these. I believe Microsoft has released a general key for 95 and maybe ever 98 already.

I'm really on the hunt for any case that I can put this stuff into. It's all taking up a lot of space on my desk and I'm afraid that something's gonna end up getting broke with it all laying out the way it is. My workbench area is also my bench that I use to work on client machines, so having this in all in a case that I can connect and disconnect on the go would be fantastic.

Like I said, any case!

I might have one that I could maybe give away, not sure if to give to to parents or not. Huge piece of junk, but its the best I got. And, btw, you never replied to the pm you sent me.

Ok, so I boxed up the CPU's and I found the following

2 15K RPM Ultra 320 SCSI hard drives, either 18 or 36GB not sure on size anymore but they both work fine (Do you need a cable for these, or controller?)

Nvidia Quadro 4 AGP Video Card, yes it supprts the old slot, an supports the higher LCD Resolutions

A Matrox Dual head AGP Video Card, dont remember much more about it.

I can ship them out theis weekend, just let me know on the controller and cable for the drives

applaud.gifAwesome, goodies! I think I might need a SCSI cable. I have a controller on the motherboard, but if the controller might be faster... devil-smiley-019.gif

Keep in mind that the board's max fsb is 100MHz, not 133. That chipset was designed for PIIs, although it was common to overclock them to 133MHz, I think some modding was required (or a great motherboard like the Abit BH6)
