AMD has a long track record of going "hey look at me" when their product is better than what is currently out.

The silence.

The delay.

The poor performance of leaked benchmarks.

All signs point to AMD not pulling off a "conroe" on Sandy Bridge. I'm sure it will be a good chip, just not earth shattering for Intel at least.

All I can think of is benchmarks...

They both use pins and AMD's server line uses LGA. Why does it matter? It shouldn't effect cost... AMD is cheaper/performance most of the time and uses a more costly method of on ic pins. How many times do you take it out and replace?

I don't see any "news" in that link. It is just another "My friends uncles neighbors barber told me" kind of "articles". AND, when I clicked on the Chinese "source" article linked in the main story, Avast told me it blocked a trojan - beware.

P.S. Why do people think that some oddball chinese site is going to be the first one informed of something like this? It makes no sense.

The fact little to nothing has been released is generating alot of interest, this thread being one example of that.

Picked up my 1100T a few weeks ago and although I do want a BD chip, I can wait.
This 1100T will do for awhile and I'm happy enough with it.

Believe me guys, we'll start seeing some benchies from these chips soon enough.

A little update on the chinese site linked in the article: I don't recommend going there- at all. After I got warned by Avast that it blocked a trojan, IE started acting up and began bogging down. I thought this might just be due to the chinese text pack thing, so I rebooted. But, when I logged back on to IE I discovered that all of my passwords- etc had been cleared- not a good sign. I ran a scan and didn't find anything other than the regular 100 tracking cookies, but I still think that chinese sources site is an attack site. Be careful if you go there.
