RECOMMENDATION: Triple 24" Monitor Mount (PIC UPDATE: Purchased Ergotron Mounts)

Anybody have any recommendations for mounting 3 Dell U2412Ms?

There seem to be very few options available. Anybody using a triple monitor mount?

UPDATE: Click HERE for the setup which was recommended.

I use three U2311H's and a 2209wa at work, and rather than go with a multiple mount, I went with 4 separate articulating arms that mount to the desk. I usually use them in 3x1 Eyefinity with the 2209 for my laptop, but I can move them around over my desk as I work on different things.

How adjustable do you need them to be? There is one that mounts them in a flat plane, which is very reasonably priced.

[ame="http://www.amazon.com/Triple-Monitor-Stand-Monitors-Clamps/dp/B003EE2AVG/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1314646778&sr=8-5"]http://www.amazon.com/Triple-Monitor-Stand-Monitors-Clamps/dp/B003EE2AVG/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1314646778&sr=8-5[/ame]

If you want a little bit of leeway to set them in a concave, there's this one.

[ame="http://www.amazon.com/Ergotech-Triple-Horizontal-Monitor-100-D16-B03/dp/B001NPEC5A/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1314646778&sr=8-1"]http://www.amazon.com/Ergotech-Triple-Horizontal-Monitor-100-D16-B03/dp/B001NPEC5A/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1314646778&sr=8-1[/ame]

I have not used either of the last 2 models I linked, but recommend them on the basis that I do have several Ergotron and Tyke Supply mounts and can say that the quality and ergonomics are top-notch.

Just my 2c worth...hope it helps,

Rich

Whoa, it's so funny that you linked me the Ergotron 45-241-026.

I was thinking about getting this:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824994099

and this:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824994063

And then putting the second one (one monitor) on the pole of the first one (two monitors), and not use the desk mount for the second one.

What do you think? Will it work?

EDIT: It looks like the base for the dual arm comes pre-built, not like yours. Perhaps I should get this one instead (in addition to yours).

There is actually some flexibility to how you set these up. Here's a picture of my cubicle:
p429822708-4.jpg

The two 17" monitors on the right are mounted on a Tyke Supply dual vertical mount.

The other 4 are all mounted on the Ergotron LX Desk Mount. The 2209 on the left in landscape and the lefthand U2311H are each on their own mount.
The two on the right are each on their own arm, but both are attached to one post.

p970886176-5.jpg

On the center monitor I added an[ame="http://www.amazon.com/Ergotron-45-244-026-Extension/dp/B00358RIR2/ref=pd_sim_e_1"] Ergotron extension [/ame]so I can really move it around.

p205482510-5.jpg

I don't think the mount is rated to hold this much, especially with the extension on one of them, but it is very solid. Once you have the tensions set, you can move them around with one finger.

So to address your dual mount question, you can make your own. smile.gif

they look like pretty much the same thing but one has the V.
by the picture the pole looks like it could just take another extention. doesnt look like it'd be tight. looks like it'd just sit on the other one.

i have the 2 ergotrons like Lost Hawaiian's and 2 other [same but] wall mounts.

for those considering these mounts remember you dont have to have all extensions attached. eg behind hawaiians set up... he could have used the extension of the nearer monitor on the other one that has the extension instead of buying another *extension. just mounting the monitor on the left directly on the center pole.
the extension piece is not the one he's labeled but the one that's connected to it.

That's a good point.

The extension is the same as the second piece on the original bracket arm. I got the extra one so that I could maneuver the middle monitor out far enough. I needed the whole bracket on the nearer one so it could "wrap" around my computer to face me when working on the two vertical 17"ers. (It's my setup checklist for working on the two on the far right.)

I hope those that followed you could follow me... smile.gif

Edit: Hey! What're all those lines on my picture...? tongue.gif

Hey, Thanks guys!

I bought the following after all your help:
ERGOTRON 45-241-026 LX Desk Mount LCD Arm
ERGOTRON 45-248-026 LX Dual Stacking Arm

I am going to put the single arm (without the included extension) on the Dual Stacking pole and leave the other two (with the included extensions) attached.

Should look something like this:
Screenshot011.png

I just hope the geometry matches up. I think there should be enough play with the left and right monitors so that they will align with the middle.

I'll post pics once I get them installed.

Fingers crossed.

I actually use the xfx tristand mount its really awesome durable and sleek looking. In my opinion the ergotron is good for functionality but looks gross. If you want a stand as good as the ergotron and want something with a much more appealing look go with the xfx tristand

NOTE: This only works If your monitors are vesa compatible
