Don't think your card is exactly 11 inches. Can you measure in mm from the outside of expansion bracket (not including the little tab)?

SG06 is maybe a better option - is a bit deeper on the front panel bit.

11 inches....PCB is a little shorter but the heat pipes and shroud overhang a little.

If it's exactly 11 inches (= 279.4 mm) then it won't fit in an SG05. Internal length is 262 mm, cutting through the case to SG05 front panel would add no less than 7mm.

SG06 is 10mm longer on the outside, but I can't promise you how much of that is usable, since I don't own that case. I would guess that since the front panel of the SG06 is 0,6mm aluminium, while the SG05 front panel plastic is like 4mm think, then you might be looking at total gain of 13mm. Then it would fit, just about.

Need someone with an SG06 to measure the inside depth of the front panel to confirm smile.gif

The SG05 definitely won't work. According to thecrim, the Gigabyte GTX 670 is Exactly 276mm long.
The longest gpu known to fit in the SG05 if you cut the front frame is the reference GT280 with is 10.5 inches (267 mm). Link here

I would say the sg06 might have less than 1cm of space so that still wouldn't be enough/

Naah it's much wider smile.gif See here Miah's picture of the front part. The top bit with the optical drive is the same depth as the SG05, but the lower part is double the width, and the metal is much thinner than the plastic of the SG05. So it think it can be done.

Edit: Ah ha! We need to ask Machupo how long this 6950 was that he put in his SG06 smile.gif

WiSK -- that 6950 (Sapphire) is 274mm long.

To fit it in the SG06, that required removing a section of the metal interior panel (rectangular shape would be the minimum required, but I removed the bulk of the front panel) as well as sanding/grinding down an interior rib of plastic from the main front panel / fascia. I feel confident that there are 2-3mm of room remaining, but it will be darn close!

WiSK -- sorry, I take that back, that particular card in the picture was a HIS 6950 2GB, not a Sapphire (I blew up the Sapphire thumb.gif )

The dimensions for the HIS card are listed as 275mm, though, so you're still good on measurements!

Appreciate all of the hard work guys- sounds like it will be very tight...I may just need to try and trade for a reference 670/680 and still go with the SG05.

Hi guys, I'm using an SG05-450 case and am looking around for a gpu.

1) Has there been anyone successfully installing an HD7970 into an SG05? I've found two people with a Powercolor PCS+ HD7950 in an SG05 in my research, but haven't seen anyone with an HD7970 yet. I checked Powercolor's website and I found the Powercolor HD7970 V3 listed as shorter than the PCS+ HD7950 (265mm vs 275mm)

1)a) I wonder if it's okay to create a new thread on the Graphics forum asking anyone who has a Powercolor HD7970 V3 measure the card redface.gif

2) Will I damage or overheat my internals using a non-blower GPU? Should I just stick with a reference blower style GTX670?

I'm using 3570k with asrock z77 board. Planning to only OC the cpu.

Thanks!
