Virtual memory listing doesn't necessarily imply page file. You will see it even if page files are completely disabled.
Disabling the page file is not likely to make anything faster. Unless you are running out of memory, very little is actually paged, no matter how large your page file.
I keep page files enabled because there are a few programs that throw a fit if they don't find one, no matter how much physical memory the system has. Also, I feel it's better to face a slowdown than program crash or system lock should I actually require more than the physical memory I have.
