Memory Settings in Sabertooth 990fx bios!

Thread Starter
Hi All,

Can someone tell me how to use the memory settings in the Sabertooth 990fx bios?

I have managed to get my G-skill ripjaws running at the correct speed of 1600 with the timings set at 7-8-7-24 1T, but noticed when the D.O.C.P is selected for the overall overclock setting it then gives me the option of selecting a memory overclock profile, such as 1800, 1866, 2000 etc, etc.

Does this mean the memory will automatically try and overclock to these settings or do you still have to manually change settings to achieve this?

My memory initially defaulted to 1333 with 9-9-9-24 timings and so I had to manually change the timings and selected the 1600 standard memory profile to get the memory running at stock speed and timings. Being relatively amateur-ish with regards these newer mobos with UEFI Bios I wanted to double check on here with one of you more experienced overclockers before changing settings and possible doing some damage!

I already learnt a harsh lesson with my first ever build frying the bios (about 2 hours after switching it on redface.gif ) in an old XP board trying to get my 2800+ running at 200Mhz front side bus which I thought was reasonable as I was using DDR2 400 sticks simple maths DDR2 400 can handle 200Mhz FSB the Board can handle 200Mhz FSB, but the processor couldnt and this fried 1 Bios, luckily it had a backup bios which a friend eventually got working.....

So before I start tinkering I just want to make sure Im not going to do anything stupid.........

Ive gott the 4x4 set of gskills also
at 16 gigs I dont mind what they run at
if you didnt know they arent at least mine are not on the qualified list u should see for yourself.
with the 16 gigs I never go above 3.5 used unless I use everest or other benchin software
my advise just leave it at auto
