Headphone choice - Samson SR850 or RH600? (or other!)

Hi all.

I'm recently on the lookout to buy some budget headphones for my PC. Mostly for casual gaming, but I'll definitely be listening to a few films and music as well.

The two in the topic title definitely seem the style I am after (and the RH600 have been mentioned a few times on this forum), but my main question is what are the differences? The price seems exactly the same...

Or are there any alternatives for the same price? I did also look at:
Creative HS800 Fatal1ty
Sennheiser HD205 (or HD202, again wasn't sure of the difference!)
Corsair HS1

Any help or suggestions would definitely be appreciated!

Gaming: AD700
Music : Depends on genre
Movies : Not sure.

I do all 3 with my ATH-M50.

The RH600 and SR850 are both a bit cheaper than the AD700, so the AD700 is most likely not in his budget.

I would recommend the RH600, personally. I own them and they're great for gaming because of their wide soundstage. The bass lacks punch, though, because these are neutral cans. They're meant to be studio monitors (the RH stands for Reference Headphone). The SR850 has more bass, but isn't as good for directional cues as the RH600 is.

Thanks for the info guys. Yeah the AD700 do look nice but are really out of my budget at this time.

Good to hear positive stuff about the RH600. Would they definitely be better than the other three makes/models I listed in my first message (the Fatal1ty/HD205/HS1) do you think then?

I really don't think it is worth taking the music into account as I'm certainly not an avid audiophile, but general all-rounders would be good I guess.

Yes, I do believe their sound quality will be better than the headsets you listed in the OP.
