Co-operative survival Minecraft server, European players needed! :)

Hey there.

I've been hosting this server for a while and I'm aming towards co-operative gameplay meaning we have one large storage that EVERYONE can use. Everyone should mine as well so the storage stays full of course. You are free to build wherever there is space to do so or you can arrange large constructions with other players or even all players doing one project, whatever. I'm running huge amount of backups so griefers, don't bother. Also I will try to keep up somekind of minecart network so moving around is easy, I will most probably need help with this one though Obviously this server can't have too many players gaming on it so I decided to limit this server to 16 players.

The fact that this server runs in Finland may scare some of you off but I ping OCn for ~190ms which isn't too bad I think.

European players needed

The server is somewhat modded survival server and you can check some of the stuff built in the server in my Youtube channel: Minecraft videos

I think I will be posting current projects in this thread too if this server gets the players it needs badly right now. Also memberlist will be added if you decide to stay

I will be running a Teamspeak 2 server too where I will have a Minecraft channel if this server gets enough players.

Memberlist (14/16):

Tuxi - Tuxi91 - ADMIN
Kevlo - Kevlo - OP
HeWhoDared - HeWhoDared - OP
Breakdown - Disparanoia - OP
dude120 - dudethatrocks
flipsm (not an OCn member)
theturbofd - theturbofd
flyex (not an OCn member)
lostmage - lostmage111
Ubernoobie - Noob
gerickjohn - Gerick14
Imglidinhere - Imglidinhere
gainsmaster (not an OCn member)
Lee79 - Lee79

I'm putting the ingame nicks here also so our players can check who each other is here in OCn

I will be monitoring last online stats and if you haven't logged in for a week or so I will start asking why. This is just because I have limited network bandwidth and computer resources available and I can't hold more than ~20 players. In short, I don't want idle players taking all the spots.

Rules:
Quote:
  • Any Major Project may, once completed, be reviewed, without warning, by the Operators, and if deemed an "Eyesore," by a unanimous vote, may be immediately demolished, by said Operators.
  • Abandon houses and other structures are liable for destruction if no building is continued within a week, or if no-one claimed an abandoned house.
  • Scenery should be left alone if a building could ruin it.
Some guides:

Spout client (REQUIRED):

I've some mods installed that require the player to use Spout client. You just download an exe and run MC through it, very simple. Also this allows you guys to update the original MC as you want. The server will get updated once Bukkit and Spout are updated to newer versions of MC.

LINK TO SPOUT
- STRAIGHT DL LINK

EDIT: Currently Spout tries to download it's files from .minecraft folder OR minecraft.net, not sure which but obviously it won't work since many of you guys already updated to 1.8 so you will need the 1.7.3 Spout files, linky here

Guide for Teamspeak 2:

Download Teamspeak 2 client: ftp://ftp.freenet.de/pub/4players/te...t_rc2_2032.exe

Install the client and start it. From toolbar click Connection and Connect. Use the right mousebutton on the white area and click "Add server". Label it as you want, server address is the same as the Minecraft servers address. Choose "Anonymous" and use the password that you can get from me. I recommend using "Auto-Reconnect" option, it's quite self-explanatory.

Commands available for all users:
  • '/list' - shows all the players online
  • '/lagmem - tells you if the server's struggling. Handy if you get lag and don't know whether it is you or the server. If it's 20TPS then the server is just fine
  • '/season get' - tells you which season it is and how many days until the season changes

Commands available for OPs:
  • '/time' - changes time using variables 'set' and 'add'
  • '/wc' - allows you to change the weather using variables 'on' and 'off'
  • '/kick' - self-explanatory
  • '/ban' - only to be used when the need arises, such as griefing!
  • '/tp' - usage: '/tp <player1> <player2>', this teleports player1 to player2
  • '/season' - will show you all the /season command variables, you're allowed use them all I think
  • '/tpc' - usage: '/tpc <x> <y> <z> <player>' teleports a player to specific coordinates
  • '/stalk' - usage: '/stalk <player>' tells you when a player was last online

Pinging the server to measure lag:

Run CMD and write 'ping <server IP>'

Using Dynmap:

Dynmap generates a map and you can view it through your browser by using '<serverIP>:8123' on the address bar.

Sure The lag shouldn't be bad at all. I get my netword through optical wire and the ping for Finnish servers vary from 5-20ms so Spain shouldn't be to bad I will PM you the Hamachi info.

This was because a few weeks back I was under wireless network (UMTS) and every time the network crashed I got a new IP. Now I've got a better internet connection and I think I have a static IP so I can host servers via it. If not I will find a way to get a static address. I have a legit copy, if it was what you meant

u can get a hostname from no-ip.com or freedns.afraid.org

u can also run offline mode so everyone can connect and install the xauth plugin for registration

Hmm, thanks, I'm going to look into this once I transfer this server to a dedicated computer. +rep

Cool, I'll start the list right away

I'd be down for this for sure. Playing SP alone is boring now to me even with mods.
