mine are still in the mail... how did they clock if i may ask?

ver 2.1?

I've been playing with hypers alot... they seem to need alot more volts than psc do with sb (32m stable, and keeping tight cl)

psc seems to do a little better on 1155, amiright?

also unlike psc.. seems like loosening tRCD doesn't net bigger clocks

Bit late i know but what you want is this, CMT4GX3M2A1600C6, rock solid cl6 Enthusiast Profile. I bought the last ones at amazon a week ago, but sure there has to be a few more out there. Still aint had the time to see what i can get out of them yet, i need some spare time

Forgot to mention, only bought 2x 2gb, if you were to get them and buy 4 x 2 gb, results will start changing with extra volts need for them, with the possibilty of looser times needed. Only tested 2 x 2gb and solid

I just send back some PSC based v7.5's of those sticks and they were awful. They took 1.68 vdimm to run at 1600. Complete and utter garbage. So I went with some gskill PIS and they run at 1.62 lol. Shame on corsair. The Elpida Hypers were only used in the dominator gt sticks TR3X62000GTF. I've got a pair : D

both kits were v2.1 One was a 3x2 kit and the other was a 3x1 kit. The 3x1 kit has two sticks with slanted ic's and the other stick the ic's are clearly squared off. I really was only interested in hypers at bargain price. The 3x2 kit were clearly not hypers. I sold them shortly after finding out they weren't what I wanted.

I still have the 3x1 kit, but I haven't really messed with them much. I did the quick 6-6-6 1600 test and they failed. Needed like 1.7v 7-8-7 1600 to boot, but ran pretty bad. That was on my classy. When i tried them on the gene-z, they didn't do 6-6-6 either, with the two potential hypers. After that, I haven't messed with them much. I don't even think i was able to get them to post at 1866 or 2133. Instead, I played with a hyperx 2000 9-9-9 kit. They were more fun to mess with. Those did 7-9-7 2240.

CMT4GX3M2A1600C6 = ELPIDA MGH-E HYPER

Not talking about boot on tight cas, Ram that tends to need more volts i found is caused by heat, its the same with cpu's pushing that last few blck higher start to need insane amounts of volts. Link in sig of Blck 218 @ 1.67v verses BLCK 212 @ 1.61v. Might be a SB thing though

Must agree i do love my set of G.Skill, not all Elpida sticks listed below but is a worthy list

http://ramlist.i4memory.com/ddr3

We need something like this here running, get to see the stuff that sometimes passes by without being noticed

UPDATE: preliminary tests of the ram in op is this

I haven't changed any of the sub timings.. only the main 5, so i'm not sure if it will make a difference.

To sum up:
1600 8-8-8 1.65v ok
1600 7-7-7 1.65v ok
1600 6-6-6 1.65v no boot
1600 6-7-6 1.65v no boot
1600 6-x-x 1.65v no boot.

here is the surprising and disappointing part (i tried all the sb dividers)
1866 7-7-7 1.65v no boot
1866 7-8-7 1.65v no boot
1866 7-x-x 1.65v no boot
1866 8-x-x 1.65v no boot
1866 9-x-x 1.65v no boot
1866 10-x-x 1.65v no boot WOW!

i tried 2133 just for fun.
- nothing boots no matter timing

i kept 1.65v constant and will try and play with it later.
i'll be testing other ram also i have 7-10-10 2200 g skill pi comming tomorrow

Are they these F3-17600CL7D?

If thats a yes, go 7-9-7-24 1T with dram frequency around 1066(need Multi 50x 100) with Super PI expect around 6m 40s to 7m @ 32M, will need to fine tune it

Dam SB eats up the high mhz ram real well. The x58 love 1600mhz, the 2000mhz gets it too hot(there is one lot of sticks it dont hold true on this, excellent timings and buts its unavailable)

I see my 2000mhz ram wont go to waste the day i go 1155. Nice job mate i see you took me up on it, and i was tempted to edit my post above and mention that the test needs to be done with fixed stock volts, to see eliminate a little bit of the noise of the stats. You must be a mind reader cause you did exactly that.

If any one did take that on, as a venture, also having stock ram cooling and nothing exotic to skew the results would be great. Be best maybe at fixed 1.65v, 2 categories i7 and SB. But i don't expect it to take off, cause its a lot of dam work updating, i cant get time to test this new ram out yet still. I new there was something else, ambient temp is good to know too, plays a vital role if your on a suicide run. Those in hot climates(like me) are disadvantage to to those in cold, but a average ambient range of 20c is a good base, with a leeway of 2c
