IT'S YOUR BAD SATA CABLES!! !!# THAT'S WHAT'S CAUSING HTESE BSODS, NOT OUR FIRMWARE1! BUY NEW SATA CABLES AND IT WILL BE FINE...OH. AND DON'T OVERCLOCK...AND TURN OFF TRIM...BETTER YET DON'T EVEN USE WINDOWS OR TURN ON YOUR COMPUTER.

See, problem solved.

Hey don't be mean, if you use it as paperweight, it's pretty nice

I seem to have the same issue with my SF-2281 drive intermittently dropping from my bios, which will only be redirected when I do a full system shutdown. My drive however is not an OCZ so this seems more like a Sandforce SF-2281 controller or firmware bug. Out of curiosity has anyone had their systems reboot without cause, only to then not detect the drive?

Daryl, that is the sandforce 2281 bug you are experiencing. This problem can exist with every drive that uses that controller. Corsair, Mushkin, Kingston, OWC, Patriot etc all have the same problem which is why Sandforce is trying so hard to find it.

I have a HyperX 120Gb about 5 weeks old. Had one lockup about 2-1/2 weeks ago, had a BSOD last nite. When I contacted Kingston after the first incident they told me they thought it may have been a fluke, they weren't getting reports of problems but they'd RMA it for me if I wanted to. Took them at their word and it worked fine until last night.

Reboot and it works fine. Hopefully SF figures out what the problem is.

I have had zero problems with the 120gb Kingston Hyper-X SSD line- I am using 4 in RAID 0; although I will say it's only been about four weeks since purchase.

Previously I was using a single 120gb Corsair Force GT and experienced BSOD's and other mentioned issues within this thread.

@Schmuckley
I know that one I just used HDClone to migrate from my SF-2281 120GB back to my 80GB SF-1222 drive. I'm also seriously considering getting a Marvell based SSD to get back up to those envious SATA3 speeds. Going back to the SF-1222 is kind of like drinking beer through a straw. I wrote a longer article about my SF-2281 issue:
