Best RAM Timings

Hello,

I have this configuration. ASUS Sabertooth P67, Intel Core i7 2600K, Thermaltake Contac 29 BP. Kingston Hyper X Genessis 4GB. Nvidia GT 220, Samsung SpinPoint F3 1TB, Cooler Master Silent Pro 700W, Cooler Master Elite 430,

Everything is on default except my ram memory. Default frequency is 1333, but i increased to 1600. The voltage is set to manual at 1.5v because I ise Sandy Bridge.

The question is about the timings on the ram. The default timings are:
DRAM CAS# Latency: 9
DRAM RAS# to CAS# Latency: 9
DRAM RAS# Pre Time: 9
DRAM RAS# Act Time: 24
DRAM Command Mode: 1

Are these timing good or there is better combinations? I'm aksing only for the first timings.

The exact model on the ram is Kingston Hyper X Genessis 4GB DDR3 1600Mhz

Try 8-8-8-24 and use memtestx86 for 2 hours. The timings you have are average timings for a sandy bridge system. Most people have these timings wink.gif

Keep lowering the timings til you are unstable. You won't see much of an increase by lowering the timings on a SB system, i don't know why but that's the way it is. Good luck.

Edit: I see your overclocked. You might not be able to lower your timings much when running at 1600Mhz. Faster RAM responds better than lowering the timings when it comes to the Sandy Bridge. Just run your RAM at 1600Mhz at 9-9-9-24.

Okk, i will remain on these timings.

There is one more thing. I can't start memtest. I don't know why. When i start memtest (from Hiren's Boot CD) it doesn't start counting the test and continue normally but it freezes. I don't mean in negative sense that is freezing. I can exit from memtest when I press Esc. I try with many versions of Hiren's, and it's the same.
