What kind of issues with Crossfire?

Also if it was between the two, I'd get the Sapphire.

All right, point(s) taken.

Also, is this card any better/as good as the 6870? It comes with Arkham City and that would save me $50 this fall and I might be getting a better card…and Nvidia, for PhysX and stuff like that…?

Hate to bump this after more than two weeks, but I am finally going to order a new card tomorrow.

Buuut, I just looked at Newegg again and now there are two cards for the same price.

One is XFX and the other is Sapphire. Same price $169.99 w/ free shipping.

They both come with Dirt 3 (XFX has the D3 promo on the site, Sapphire sends a code with the product physically) so which is the better brand?

XFX

Sapphire
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814102948

I'd appreciate some opinions from you guys.

Also, will these Dirt 3 codes be usable? There was a huge hack or something a few weeks ago and I don't want to get my Steam account suspended or something if I redeem it. Are they OK now?

After 3870, 4870, 5870 Sapphire cards I can tell you Sapphire & ATI / AMD go hand in hand awsomely as exclusive vendor. I've never had problems and the cards handed down to relatives, family are still pumping, four years on the 3870 I believe. I'm expecting the 3870 my grandma has to go anyday but she only uses computer for home photos...

As for XFX, I've never had any from them. I've heard both horror and good things mixed about them. Can't put my stamp of approval but can't advice you to stay away either.

My dollar and opinion goes to Sapphire.

As for the Dirt 3 codes being usable I wouldn't see why they wouldn't. It's part of the deal and both Sapphire and XFX are honorable vendors. Would be false advertising if it didn't. Enjoy them card and the game. With game coupon it's like $50 off the card price.

XFX has better warranty service IMO, despite the few horror stories floating around my RMA experience was fantastic.

XFX has lifetime and sapphire is 2 years IIRC, xfx covers you for removing the heatsink and replacing it, sapphire does [again, iirc, i may be wrong] not.

XFX has a transferrable warranty whereas sapphire does not.

http://www.sapphiretech.com/presenta...n=000203&lid=1

yup, 2 years, not transferrable, you're not allowed to take the heatsink off.

That being said, sapphire is still a good manufacturer. I just think because of the price and the card being the same, xfx is the better choice.

Wrong on two accounts regarding Sapphire and XFX:

1. Warranty is transferrable if the person making the RMA has the reciept with serial number on it.

Yes if the product is not returned as originally shipped it voids the warranty.

2. XFX has the same stipulation in their warranty about being returned in original equipment, components, manuals, cables, documents, and packaging. No damage which means you can't remove heat sinks as well.

Just clearing up any rumors that may start with Sapphire just as might have been about XFX. Beside the stories on XFX was based on experience from XFX owners. There are some bad RMA's with Sapphire as well to be fair in all honesty.

Air cleared.
