I was doing the same comparison on ssds for like 2 wks. I mean like 50 tabs open, reading, comparing, everything. I was set on the ocs agility 3, or vertex 3 (if I could get the $) bcuz they are insanely fast. And I've had ocz memory, and ocz psu's and have always liked them, but it seems OCZ doesn't have the ssd down yet. From what I've heard their customer sevice is beyond horrible, and unless you get the vertex3 (meaning if you get the solid or agility series) you don't know exactly what kind of chip youll get. Like they use different companies based on whoever is cheaper atm.
And if you are going to go with the Asus P8Z68-V Pro (which I highly recommend) then getting a sandforce based ssd is really not a good idea.
If you search around you'll hear about the random bsod problem with sandforce drivers, and unfortunately, that board is one of them that seem to get it more often.
But it is blazing fast.
If you want a really fast, reliable ssd, go with Intel or Crucial's M4. Intel is really expensive GB/$ but is really good quality. But the M4 is fairly cheap, has great reviews, they are very very reliable, the customer service from Crucial is top notch, and I've not heard one person that bought it regret it, or say it wasn't fast enough.
The only thing the sandforce does a lot faster is sequential writing (mostly)
Which, for most of us, isnt what we use the drive for most anyways (most data is reading)
Anyways, after 2 weeks of hard researching, and a few threads I posted here on OCN, I'm set on the M4. I wish I could have gotten a 128, bcuz its even faster and I wouldn't have to worry about space, but I don't have the funds for that atm. I just spent 1k on the pc.
Anyways, I hope this helps some.
