Aquacomputer Aquaduct XT MK IV - Page 2

Old thread but anyway... Every thread about the aquaduct always contains complaints about the high price. Sure, it is expensive compared to single components but if you a are someone who is already able to judge about this, than you are normally not the kind of customer who is looking for a device like that.

The aquaduct is designed as a user friendly entry into the world of liquid cooling and especially for people who do not want to spend hours or maybe even days to setup a system and do some modifications at their case etc. That device is also used quite often in industrial environments where companies just look for an all-in-one solution.

For the price most people do not keep in mind that this unit consists of more than 200 single parts which must be assembled by hand. Just to give you an idea, here is a photo of an older mark II variant:

Some parts in this photo are already assembled. Well, it is a nice puzzle and takes some time to finish wink.gif

Boy does that look keen..
Suprised to see this actually xD I didnt know anyone from there was on the forums.
Cool though! Cant say Id buy one.. if there were a way to make it cheaper though... Then Id defs think about it.. they look like sweet machines.

Edit* - since I see you guys get all the parts and put them together... would aquacomputer sell some of them seperately? Maybe? Id buy some..

You can get most parts also as a single spare part. Just write a PM to me or send an e-mail.

Shoggy, I've been cruising your web site and building a shopping cart including the 720. Really looks like high quality stuff. Here's my question. I want to cool a 2700K at 4.8 (now on a H80) and 2 HD7970s ( both oc'd to 1125 and get real hot!). What do you recommend? A single loop from the 720, or 2 loops with 2 360s?

In the 720, and 360 series, what are the coolant contact surfaces/materials? Any aluminum in the mix?

Also, "build time" has been 10 days for the past week... Are the 720s built as ordered? None in stock?

Looks like you guys make a great product and I'm close to "checkout"...
John

I think one unit is the better choice. An aquaduct 360 XT just for the CPU is too much while for two graphics cards it has not enough cooling power - well, of course it has but not for a silent operation because the fans will have to run at higher speeds.

The side profiles and also the black base and top are made of aluminum. All these parts are anodized and when used with an anti corrosive cooling fluid like our Double Protect Ultra you will see no problems there. We build these aquaducts since several years now and had no problems with corrosion so far. Using a suitable cooling liquid is they key, otherwise you might encounter problems by and by.

Other materials are stainless steel, delrin/POM, different kinds of normal plastic, nickel plated brass, plexiglas and rubber.

At the moment we have none of them in stock. If your order now I think the delivery time is 10 - 14 days.

Cool. I'll get to it as soon as I get back to the US at the end of the week. Thanks.

Okay - placed the order on June 26th. The 720 XT is shipping today. I will post again once I receive it and begin installation with aqua's water blocks for my 2700K and two 7970's. Looks like a very good piece of kit and I think the community can benefit from my experience with it. It's hard to find a build log with this equipment.

Dead thread but... It's in, up and running. The 720XT is a spectacular piece of equipment. Highly recommend. Keeps a 2700K (4.8) and two 7970's (OC to max in CC ) very cool. 2700K never gets above 51oC, and VGA cards level out in the 40's on furmark - these would go above 90 on the stock cooler.

If you can shell out the cash, get it.

Sounds awesome JPMBoy! Can you tell me, are you feeding the loop through the video cards 1st, or the cpu? There is no need for a resevoir inside the case either? Thanks for posting this on this really old thread, BTW! +rep!
