Best 120HZ Monitor for Gaming, not 3D? - Page 3

I personally love the AW2310 - it feels sturdily built, colors are great, and the monitor itself just looks great on your desk. I don't use it for 3D at all and I don't regret purchasing it, mainly because I got it at a good price. As great as the monitor is, I don't think I could ever pay the full retail price for it, nor could I recommend anyone else buying it at full price. I bought mine on eBay for $280 shipped a while back (the monitor was lightly used, had no defects). If you are willing to risk buying a used monitor and putting forth the extra effort to find a well maintained one, it may be well worth searching eBay.

Man there are so many to choose from, I remember when I had one choice. I am definitely jealous, would be great to be trying this all out over again!
LG W2363D is not in production anymore, and its defently not new But still the best if you can find one.

The Top Notch 120hz 2d monitors today is:
XL2410T, VG236H and the Samsung 950 series.

Ok the alienware is still a smexy monitor, but its old and defently not worth the price anymore...

Darn it, I know there was a 120HZ (true) IPS panel coming out, thought that was the LG. It does look good.

I am on a mad hunt to find the source. Or maybe I dreamt about it ^.^

Is this what you're referring to?

This concerns me. I need to lay my eyes on one, somewhere.

I'm in the market for a 120Hz monitor as well though I am considering 3D later on in time..

is the sticky thread regarding monitors still up to date?
Why are people still recommending the GD235HZ? The issues with its pixel overdrive causing weird over-sharpening should be enough to make it a horrible monitor. The fact that it also has the worst input lag of any 120hz monitor is just icing on the cake. I'll agree that anything below 16ms probably isn't going to be noticed, but once you're past that and at a full frame of lag, people sensitive to that sort of thing can start to notice it.

Oh, and it's possible to turn the overdrive off via the service menu, but then you lose the ability to adjust certain settings and any changes you make are reset every time the monitor is turned off.

One thing I noticed when reading reviews about the BenQ (relates to a comment above about dull colors) is that the stock color profile out of the box is moderately horrid. With some time spent calibrating it, the color improves significantly.

Dead or stuck pixels on a display are common in retail stores. Most places (like Canada Computers for example) have a zero dead or stuck pixel policy. When someone returns a monitor with a bad pixel, the store typically returns it or puts it on display.
