temp sensors

any of you on here know where is the best place to put sytem temp monitor on mobo, or does it vary by user preference?

I have just stuck sensor on mobo just to the right of cpu heatsink with some tape in past but is this correct and give an acurate reading of what i need.

sorry if this is in wrong place, wasnt sure where else to put it.

also anyone know of a video guide to puting one on cpu as i have done in past but again not sure if i have been doing it correctly and had acurate readings.

The best is to place it as close as possible to the heat source to get the closest to actual temperature reading as pic below.
