A friend told me 9 latency is bad for ram. I was going to buy http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231416 this but my friend insists i get a lower latency ram.. but my friend is also obsessed and spends crap tons of money where it's not entirely needed.

I read an article on Tom's Hardware and from what I gathered and their graphs showed, at that speed latency doesn't make much of a difference at all. It'd be better to spend the money towards something better like a graphics card, etc.

Tell your friend to shut it. The kit you linked is fine.

9 is bad.
Its also pretty much standard for DDR3 Kits.

Lower Latency is definitely something to look for, but if you don't think its worth the money tell him to shove it and buy whatever kit you want.
Its your computer, not his.

For Sandy, Latency doesn't do a whole lot. The speed does more. 1600mhz is the sweet spot.
