Latest Nvidia Drivers still suck - Page 4

Spotted another issue with the latest beta drivers. In Deus Ex: Human Revolution, both of my cards are always under full load. That does not happen with 280.26.

Myabe it's trying to take full advantage of your cards for the game. fallout doesn't take full advantage of my cards and neither does call of duty. did they put an update in performance for that game in the new driver?

I just updated to the latest drivers using the link previously posted in the thread. The install went great. It is clean with no bloatware and is operating just fine so far. About to reinstall crysis (since I just got surround) to play it. I will see if there are any issues. So far the bootup issue I was having before where the logo would skip is less noticeable, however there is a nice amount of lines that go across the screen for a split second before my logon screen appears. This didn;t happen before so it has to be because of the driver loading. Looks like nvidia has some work to do as far as the coding for loading the driver before logon. While it is annoying, I just ignore it since I know it is the driver and it does not appear to be causing any issues. Also, the last driver I had, when adjusting the digital vibrance would only adjust the far left and right monitor on my surround setup. That is now fixed. It now adjusts it for all 3 monitors.

I've been getting lots of flickering in Crysis 2. Running either singer card or dual 560s.

1 card is only a week old. The max GPU temp every recorded by HWMonitor has been 74c (by the top card, after about 2 hours of crysis 2)

EDIT: This flickering only occurs in SPECIFIC areas. In the level "The Lab" all black/gray constasted smoke effects flicker back and forth between black and grey.

This only happens in the level "The Lab." This only started happening as of today (I reinstalled my drivers last night before bed)

In several levels certain places textures will flash. The always happens in the exact same spot in each level.

YouTube has people showing the exact same problems as me - so I don't think it's a hardware issue.

Either way -- Looks like I'm going to use EVGA's step up program and turn in my 560s for a single 580. SLI really hasn't been to my liking. The performance is FANTASTIC in game where it actually works - but it rarely works to its full potential.

In Crysis 2 for example I somehow get MORE THAN double the FPS of running single 560. I go from 25-50 FPS ----> 50---120+ FPS when running both cards. What's more, 50FPS is the absolute MINIMUM I ever get in SLI. However, at the same time, SLI causes many problems. It seems to cause several of the artifacting problems - some sli fixes (from BOTH EVGA AND NVIDIA) have fixed many of these problems, but many remain.

I went with Nvidia because I enjoy 3D. It works amazingly well in some games - don't think I'll ever play TF2 without 3D vision ever again. But, as mentioned already in this thread, 3D vision ALSO causes many problems. The 3D vision drivers are absolute trash sometimes requiring 2 or 3 removal/installs of **ALL** Nvidia drivers on my system to get working properly.

LOL same here.

With 280.26 my cards fluctuate between about 80 and 99% usage when before they would hold a constant 99% while playing Crysis 2.

Recorded GPU usage using EVGA Precision with Nvidia brand GTX 560 2gb models.

Same, never ONCE have i done any of these ridiculous procedures I see on websites for freshly installing drivers. I simply over-write the old ones and have never had an issue in years upon years. We aren't in 1999 anymore and unless you are switching from ATI to Nvidia or vis-versa it really is not necessary to do anything more.

No they didn't. Also, since I'm getting constant 120FPS with 280.26 @ ~50-70% usage, there's no logical explanation to the cards going all the way up to 99% in order to get the same framerate.
