Well the dimm should have the frequency on it as well as the voltage.

I still say you are very very close. You got 11 hours out of that set up. And you only got the Rounding error, not a freeze or BSOD.

I defer to these guys on the memory help, they know what's up with it. They can help you better.

You're right on the edge of stability there though. Nice.... thumb.gif

Agreed. Usually 30 minutes of Prime95 and OCCT linpack stability is enough for me. My machine only needs to be stable enough to never lock up, BSOD, or crash any program I generally run on it, and with even 30 minutes of Prime95 and OCCT linpack stability I've never had any issues on my machines. If it's only unstable after long periods of time in a stress-test, does it really matter?

Okay, at AUTO settings for the ram i can run prime95 for about 20 minutes then it just crashes. Now I don't even get any errors, just a plain crash. Max temp was 47c. Not sure where to go from here??

Also my motherboard won't let me set my ram voltage to 1.65 that it's suppose to be on. It only goes up by increments of 2 so the closest i can get is 1.63 or 1.67?

try running at 9-9-9-28 just to see if it wants looser timings, sometimes phenoms like a little bit looser timings when OC'd. Don't worry about the voltage for the ram too much anymore. But again, does it have a frequency on the ram itself? Also try going to usercp at the top, edit system, and put all your details in so we know everything we are dealing with smile.gif

No, I don't see any voltage on the actual stick. I'll try those timings and try again, thanks

Just to make sure I have the right settings, like I said, new to overclocking. Check the attachments.

You guys have been a tremendous help redface.gif

My machine only needs to be stable enough to never lock up, BSOD, crash, or produce inaccurate data in any program I run.

I generally need 48-72 hours of multiple stress tests, in intentionally elevated ambient temperatures (~35C), to ensure this doesn't happen. I've had blatant instabilities in certain programs even after 20+ hours of Prime95 and Linpack.

Depends on how much stability you need. I need to be confident that errors or silent corruption aren't accumulating during hours, days, weeks, or even months of constant 24/7 load.

If 30 minutes of Prime is enough for you, thats great, but even fairly casual users can sometimes run into serious issues if that's the extent of their stress testing.

DISABLE IN BIOS
Secure VM Mode
Cool 'n' Quiet
any C1E/SpeedStep style features you find
Turbo mode/AMD Turbo CORE technology (whatever your BIOS identifies it as)
CPU and PCIe spread spectrum
Advanced Clock Calibration (ACC)

get your nb frequency near 3000mhz and bump the cpu/nb to 1.3v try the ram at 1.6v and set it to 1600mhz. keep HTlink around 2200-2000mhz. I think the nb freq and voltage is now the problem.

Yeah, CL, DDR3-1600, 1.65v memory.

You should manually set your timings and voltages

Well prime95 has been running for 15 minutes now and no problems, max temp 46c..my temps are really great especially with such a huge overclock! Also im surfing the web and watching youtube while running prime95 and it still is doing fine, I'll leave it on for a bit longer and see how it goes..Looking good so far though
