Razer imperator 4G firmware update fail - Page 2

Maybe usb gone bad, all of my(8usb) ports have issues. Noticed when I was about to firmware update samsung galaxy s2, the update program wouldn't allow it, fortunately : ). Tested on old computer and success. Usb storage transfers seems fine, but I will never firmware update on this computer, maybe they are more prone to errors.

I cannot exclude that option at the moment, but are you sure it could be partially faulty since I have no issues whatsoever with mu USB ports and all my inputs are working fine except the device recognition part of the firmware update, Should I use a second mouse in the progress as an extra precaution?

After I wrote to Razer support (always a bad idea I guess) about my issue having stated all my progress/experiments-results of my Imperator 4G they responded with slightly awkward message stating the obvious and recommending me to do what I have already done.

Direct quote:

"Hello,

First of all are you having an issue with the device right now? because
if you are not, you do not need to update the firmware on the device.

Second if the firmware updater is not detecting the device, go to Start
> All Programs > Razer > Razer Naga > Razer Naga Firmware updater, right
click on the updater and choose run as admin."

Why should I use Naga drivers/firmware with my Imperator and does that fix my problems?

I had the same problem.
You just need to initiate the bootable process on the mouse by pressing a key on the mouse
on the loading screen you disconnect the mouse. then by pressing the button the mouse you connect to the usb port. (Do not rememberif its the profile button you need to press or the dpi)

it was a post here but cant find it any more

Hello, i recently got a razer imperator 2012 with a new firmware updated to 1.05. After 4 RMA's returns to razer i got this one on 4 days ago and so far no issues. I send the other mouses back because i had similar problems like other people posted. mouse disconnecting every couple minutes and coming back on, tracking skipping at 1000hz, mouse freezing after lifting off. Well i would like to shared that i got this mouse with the refresh firmware update and so far none of those issues have occur.i been using the mouse nonstop on the razer scarab and artisan hayate no lifting issues, no skipping, no random disconnection. The only thing is that z-axis still the same if u lift the mouse rapidly in the same spot. Currently using 1800 dpi and have not seen issues so far.
So please if anyone who have issues you should RMA the mouse and talk to annoying razer support about your issue so they can fix all the issue like they did to the mighty DA.

i check razer website and firmware 1.05 is not there yet

here is another screenshot playing l4d1 at 1000hz in window mode at 600x400 the mouse did not take 90 cpu usage i had 50% usage
