New Fans + Fan controller help/advice needed!

Thread Starter
So, I've decided that my current fan set-up looks awful, with the corsair h100 being used as a fan controller really looks terrible! I've wanted a fan controller for a while and have decided now is the time.

I currently have 4x Sythe Gentle Typhoon 1450RPM (http://www.scan.co.uk/products/120mm...or-replacement) fans attached to the radiator of the h100, which are then powered via the h100's fan headers on the pump. What I want to do here is route them behind the botherboard and to a fan controller on the front. Now I've looked at a few and I dont want anything fancy with LCD screens and rubbish like that, just a simple array of knobs shall suffice. One much like this:

Now, I don't want to have a separate knob controlling each fan as i want them all working at the same RPM by using a Y-cable that would mean all 4 fans were powered through 1 3pin, but after reading the 7watt limit per channel, I don't think that would work as I have read elsewhere that the fans need around 3-4 watts on boot before they drop to around 1watt while running which says to me, skilled mathematician as I am that the fan controller I have chosen will not allow the fans to work with 4 fans on one channel.

That's the first issue out of the way.

Next I wish to connect all 3 of the front fans on my Antec 1200 to said fan controller but currently they are powered via 4pin molex, and I'm no good with, nor do I own a soldering Iron! Therefore I was wondering if there was an easy way of converting them to a 3pin connection. I know this would make the controllers that are already there redundant, but if I am going to get a fan controller I want all of my fans controlled from the same spot so I don't have to fiddle with the small and tacky knobs on the 1200. I have considered getting new fans but after reading a number of different posts stating that the Antec 1200's tri-cool fans are perfectly fine in the case, I think it might be better to save some money and just mod my case a bit as I am happy quite happy with how they are working now and would only replace them if they became faulty in some way.

It's all pretty much up in the air at the moment, but I'm open to suggestions to what would be the best course to follow and any products that would be better suited to my requirements.

Thank you for taking the time to read all that!

GT 1850 are 1watt each your fine.

1450s are ever less. they are 0.588 Watt each.

Amps * Volts = WATTS

And this for the second?

That particular lamptron model has had some bad reviews, but I've seen good feedback on this controller: http://www.kustompcs.co.uk/acatalog/info_2875.html

It's a bit more expensive but has a lot more scope for future modding (lights more fans etc) I might go for that unless anyone can find a better controller that is available in the UK!

Would that fan work with a fan controller, I'm just a bit thrown by the fact that it has a 4pin power cable

I was thinking of going for this seeing as its on offer:

Been running the FC-2 for over a year with #9 fans rated at .333a and
above.

All double ganged and one pole triple ganged.
No problems
Also like the led's behind the knobs as not overpowering as on alot of them
as on the one you linked.
And 45w per channel as opposed to 30w not that you'll need it.

Does your MOBO have PWM if so, get this. If you use it with PWM fans, you will be happy. It has its own power supply to the fans, so no need to worry about overloading your fan header. Plus it still feeds back speed sensor from one fan, so you can view RPM on your computer.

As for fans, I am using Akasa Apaches on my 240 radiator, and Akasa Vipers on my 200mm radiator with a custom aluminum shroud. Both of which are PWM, and have amazing static pressure for radiators/heatsinks. Just the Apaches are 1300RPM, while the Vipers are 1900RPM. Best fans I have ever owned, and PWM gives a great RPM range.

Plus will soon have some GTs that run 2150RPM for exhaust on my case.
