No, I don't mean simply putting a shortcut (in the form of a tile) to an app in the Tiles UI homescreen.

Let me see how I can explain this...

Try opening Internet Explorer from the Tiles UI pin. See how it opens with a different UI, within the Tiles UI.

Then, go to the Classic Desktop UI from the Tiles UI. Now open Internet Explorer from the pin in the taskbar. See how it opens in the desktop, just like in Windows 7.

Well, why do other apps when opened, make the UI switch to the Classic UI, even if you launch them from the "All Apps" section in the Tiles UI? Why aren't they incorporated within the Tiles UI, like IE is, when opened from there?

That's what I mean by the inconsistent use of UIs.

A friend of mine reported the same "feature" in Chrome. The TilesUI accessed variant wasn't keeping his bookmarks from the Desktop accessed variant.

Other than ATI drivers for my cards, there are no other drivers currently installed for my hardware. Optional updates just show various hotfixes, security updates, etc.

Nothing hardware/driver-specific like I used to see on XP/Vista/7.

Press WinKey + E (on desktop). Right click on My Computer, select Properties. Click on Windows Update towards the the bottom left of the screen.

Windows Updates should be shown.

Towards the bottom of the screen, there should be a sentence saying Windows Update is only updating Windows, there should be a clickable link towards the end of the sentence. Click it. It should open a website saying do you want to install Microsoft Update. Say yes. You will now receive updates for other products.

Well, it's set to update other Microsoft products, that's it, haha.

ETA: All the updates I'm getting are for Office.

Do you have Recommended Updates box checked in Windows Update Settings?

It could be that Microsoft does not have drivers for your board, it's completely possible. What's not working? I can help hunt down drivers when I have some free time. smile.gif

I have a question guys. In the Zune desktop client, I was able to categorize TV shows by editing them (I think). In the Video app, it seems like I cannot edit video files. How can I force M4V files to show under the TV Shows instead of Other? It's really annoying otherwise.

Yeah, it's checked. It's not even finding drivers for my G510. I know Asus hasn't yet released W8 drivers for my board, and the same goes for the G510 from logitech. When I install the W8 realtek drivers, it causes all sorts of issues. Like I said, I'm not getting ANY hardware updates.
