Can anyone tell if apps can access net if there is proxy authentication?

I used a proxifier in the consumer preview and the desktop IE10 could access net but the app one could not. So if anyone who has bought can see if that's fixed?

If you can get it for free, yup! I have Win 8 Pro and StarDock8, its the same as Win 7 but faster boot times and less memory useage.

Here's what mine looks like with Stardock8 and 8 gadget pack:

Has anyone found a work around for MSI Afterburner in Windows 8? It causes black screens in most games if you try and use the on screen display. Works just fine to overclock the card and minimise though

Any performances ok or no problems playing BF3 and other games?

Is this a promising OS or should i wait?

sorry for not reading the whole thread but i didnt see this in the first few pages asked.

I dont want to upgrade to win8 from my win7 from vista upgrade os. I had an issue with the upgrade to win7 where i am required to call MS each time i want to reinstal or change hardware to activate the OS again and again and again. I want a full clean non upgrade version of win8 pro which will allow me to upgrade my components and not be seen as an instal on a completly new machine...... I like to reinstal the os several times a year or month if im playing with component configs (raid, hdd-sdd, screwed up a oc and corrupted the os).

Im uncertain with which option is best for me as a hardcore user

well, i just installed Windows 8 and have been reading that it tracks all your software, websurfing, movies watched and buying.. is this true and is there a way to have it not do all these things.

This is what I'm scared of. That is why I'm going to be using linux as my media OS.

OK, so its been over 2 hours since I started my Win8 install and its still sitting at the black screen with the blue window and the little circular "working" icon spinning around. I did choose to keep my settings and programs when setting up and knew it would take a while with my 200+GB of stuff but I didn't think it would take this long. Is this FUBAR or should I let it go for some more time?

walk away and let it spin ... for now. The win7 instal hung on the blue bird screen for what seem forever before continuing for me. I had acutally shut the machine down and tried to reinstal win7 many times only to hang on the blue bird screen, untill i read a post that said that is common. I left it for a good long while and low and behold it did continue and finnished the install.

Good luck.

I just picked up win8 pro (not a clue if upgrade or builders version) but im going to dive in tomorrow. I just one last night with my big red before i mess up my win8 install. wink.gif
