I assume that means more vcore and I have gone up to 1.38v and I don't think it should be that high for a 4.5ghz oc. Please help me cause I've read many guides and enabled/disabled many things and it still has not helped. I've also tried manually setting the qpi vtt voltage and CPU PLL but it's just getting me even more confused. My motherboard is MSI Z68A-GD55 B3.As of right now I have put everything on auto and slowly upping the vcore once again. I notice the CPUIO(VTT) is at 1.352 when I set it to auto

Edit: I have put the SYstem agent voltage to 0.925 and cpu vcore to 1.7. CPUIO at 1.15. BSOD on occt 40 mins in.
You can make it incredibly complicated if you'd like, but this is all you need to do:

1. Set everything in BIOS back to defaults.
2. Turn "turbo boost" off.
3. Feed it 1.4v.
4. Set multiplier at 45x.
5. Run OCCT auto 1hr
6. Report back.

start @ 1.41 then work your way down..it beats not being able to post from insufficient vcore

1.4v for 45x? lol start off with 1.2v and work your way up. LOL by the way use the guide in the first post.

I have looked at your guide numerous times and the thing is I can't boot into windows without PLL overvoltage and I will freeze/bsod unless I have a vcore of atleast 1.35.

with that said, continue working from 1.35v then and leave PLL overvoltage enabled if you need it.

As of right now, Im running 1.37 vcore, 1.13 CPUIO, CPU PLL 1.83 and have pll overvoltage enabled, I will attempt to run prime and I will post back. If this fails because of bsod 124 what should I raise? I will also try the 1.41vcore method after this.

124 - Raise or lower PLL voltage.

On lower binned chips, 1.4v may be required on the vCore...

My chip can only do 4.8 if I up the vCore to 1.495, and 1.485 for 4.7ghz.

For 4.4-4.5ghz I have to keep it at 1.4v to remain rock solid stable... it's slightly high, but in the end all of these chips aren't made to be crunk up to 5ghz+.

It's the so called 'Silicon Lottery' so to speak. You just deal with the luck of the draw and go from there. I run 1.49 volts 24/7 but my temps never exceed 80C even in prime, and during gaming I'm @ around 75C. In your case, if you just want to hit 4.5ghz, 1.4v is perfectly fine to run 24/7 as long as you keep the load temps around 75C or below.

No amount of tweaking Vtt or PLL is going to make your chips bin any better. Some chips just need more voltage to do what you want them to do...

I would bump it to 1.4v-1.41v max and if you still can't hit 4.5, you've got a very low binned chip and should just stick to 4.4ghz and call it a day. 4.4ghz is still a VERY fast chip and the difference between 4.4 and 5.0 in gaming is nearly nil unless you're in a severely CPU limited scenario, which is pretty hard to do with these chips.

The only game that can CPU limit a sandy @ 4.4ghz+ is Starcraft 2 that I know of.

I'm sure there are others, but they are definitely the exception and not the rule.
