Would it be safe for me to touch my CPU without an anti-static if I first touched the metal in my case?

Hi Legend,

If I might add. Yes to your first question and only if the surrounding air gets real dry, will static continue to be a problem. You'll know that when you comb your hair. If it gets real statical, or stands up then you might want to consider some grounding type strap.

I've used non-conductive materials like wood, cardboard or rubber to place my M/B or cases on, after you touch something to ground yourself before working on your cpu/motherboard/ram, etc. Just a thought....

I hope this helped, :-)

alright, when i went to remove the heatsink from the cpu, my cpu got pulled out.... all the pins are there luckily, but when I lower and raise the insertion bar, the white socket moves a little bit (very little though). Should I continue you or what?
