Skyrim Graphics Card

I'm getting a Radeon 6870 to upgrade my current graphics card to run Skyrim.

Think it'll be enough to run it at decent settings?

Should be more than enough to run the game at max settings (with the rest of your sig rig).

Should be good enough. What FPS do you want?

Skyrim is based on the Oblivion/Fallout 3 engine. In the words of Bethesda, they want the gameplay experience to be "the same across all platforms".

It's an old DX9 engine, I bet a GTX260 will max it out.

I plan to play at either 1280 by 720, 1280 by 1024, or 1920 by 1080.

As for the FPS, maybe 30 FPS? I need a playable FPS is all, nothing where it's gonna be super choppy.

Vanilla should be fine. Modded, not so much.

That card will probably run 1080p at 30-60 frames or more. Its a DX9 game, and it was developed for consoles. Its going to be a really pretty game, but its just not that taxing on PC hardware.

You're going to be completely fine. You'll even get much more than 30 FPS(prediction)

What about DX11 games, such as Crysis 2? Think it'd be okay for that?
