So would it be better then getting a Atom would you say?

Yes, I consider the Atom to be the bottom of the barrel for netbooks.

Unfortunately, no. If you weren't international I would consider selling my Acer to you (or even my Lenovo u450P). I would just look for the cheapest 4GB equipped C50/C60 based netbook around- preferably through ASUS since they have a nice comprehensive warranty with accidental damage coverage, etc.

If at all possible, something with an N550 Atom and an ION1 or 2. Its a dual core atom with hyperthreading so it should be able to let you multitask a bit, the ION serves as the GPU.

To be honest if you want to playback 1080p movies, any atom powered notebook can do that. Here is a link explaining the adjustments you need to make, http://www.mydellmini.com/forum/dell...n-you-10v.html

I have an HP mini 311c (Intel atom N270 + ION) and it plays 1:1 blurays without problems. But the screen resolution on most netbooks is not 1080p so it does not matter anyways.

The N270 is a single core with hyperthreading. I have not tested its limits but 4 or 5 Word documents opened is no problem. At school I normally have 2 or more word documents opened and am running a youtube video(music) on the background and experience no problems at all.

It opens web pages pretty fast, its a little bit slower than my sigrig, about half a second slower.

At school I had to use VirtualPC to run a virtual server and client. It did this without problems. I did put more RAM in it though.

We had a sort of LAN party at school once and I could play games like Call of Duty or Age of empire 2 without problems.
