New build! 650D, H100, 2600k, etc.

Thread Starter
It's been about a year since I purchased the components for my first desktop PC, and I learned a lot from the experience.

I purchased a lot of iffy components and didn't spend extra money where it needed to be spent in order to push it to the next level. The original build was as follows:

Motherboard: Gigabyte EP43-UD3L
CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q8400 w/ stock cooling
GPU: XFX ATI Radeon HD 5850
RAM: 4GB OCZ Platinum DDR2 1066 + 2GB old random sticks
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 320GB drive (old)
PSU: Raidmax Hybrid 2 630W
Case: Rosewill Challenger
Optical Drive: Random DVD read/writer

Anyway, I built the computer for Final Fantasy XIV (which ended up being a pile of trash), but later realized that I really enjoyed the experience of PC building and also running various benchmarks, gaming at super high settings (it's important to me!), and being able to process information quickly (I'm a programmer and do some video editing, love seeing stuff get finished fast).

Anyway, now I'm employed full time and am budgeting my money to be able to purchase this build. And this time I'm going to do it right!

The plan for now is as follows:

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z68XP-UD3P
CPU: Intel Core i7 2600k
CPU cooling: Corsair H100 Purchased!
GPU: 2x MSI GTX 560 Ti Hawk **
RAM: 16GB Corsair Vengeance Purchased!
HDD: Samsung F4 2TB Purchased!
PSU: Corsair AX850 Purchased!
Case: Corsair 650D Purchased!
Optical Drive: Random DVD read/writer (same one, since physical media is totally on its way out the window) Already had it!
SSD: Contemplated. It'd need to be cheap, and I'm not quite sold on them yet.

** Here's the deal with the video card:
I actually bought a GTX 560 Ti Hawk from MSI earlier this year, and I've been using it with my other components. However, it has broken...probably due to travel. The plan is to RMA this one and get a second for SLI, but I was wondering if any OCN members knew anything about MSI's RMA policy for upgrades. If I can, I may like to trade in the 560 Ti for a 580 Lightning + some cash, and purchase another down the road. But if they will simply send me a new 560 Ti, I'll stick with these in SLI. 580s would make this build a killer, but I don't know if I can really justify purchasing them straight out.

Stay tuned for pictures and updates!
