Depends on your hardware. I have to pause folding on my GPU in order to game, or watch full-screen videos without lagging and frame rate stuttering. A graphical powerhouse, the GT220 is not.

Remind me again why I love my 6950?

My 11294 frame times go from 3 min to 8 min while in borderlands. It's not great, but it beats not folding while I game, right?

Depends on what vm software your using. On vbox you can hit machine then pause from the dropdown. Or you can close the VM and select Save state, same goes for vmware on that one. Just make sure when you bring it back up you run something like...

Code:
sudo ntpdate time.apple.com
so that way it updates the time for you and it reports correctly in hfm.net.

Your 6950 cost four times what my GT220 did, I sure hope it works a lot smoother.

I keep my CPU folding 24/7, even when I game. It can handle it just fine, even though its PPD isn't very high.

Got GTX 460 folding correctly.
however 9800GT is not.
Is GPU3 fine for folding on non-fermi cards with the forcegpu nvidia 80 tag?
I had an error in the log file on the first 9800gt work unit which i googled to return "missing dll" issue. I copied the .dll's from appdata/roaming/folding@home gpu to the root folder of each local install under program files (x86).

When moused over the toolbar icon, i see 0/0 for progress, while the other sees a normal 16000/50000. Non SLI cards. Have GTX460 on DVI, 9800 on VGA as you can see in the extended desktop screenshot
screenshot

still, 23k ppd when web browsing, can't complain.
