Waterblock Link/Bridge Guide for Crossfire/Sli water cooled setups

I just made some quick illustrations on how some of the bridges work. Each diagram shows an example product.

***Please note: this motherboard illustration is just for reference. To make it easy to relate to your mb, make your first (and top most) pcie 2.0/3.0 slot the "slot #1".
***

Dual block bridge, single slot in between:

Dual block, two slots in between:

Dual block bridge, three slots in between:

heatkillerdualthreeslot.jpg

Triple block, one slot in between:

heatkillertriplelink.jpg

Quad block, one slot in between:

The bridges noted above are all parallel flows! This next diagram shows a simple series/serial flow path on a triple block, one slot spaced bridge:

Reserved for google spreadsheet to list all the available bridges and what hardware/accessories are needed (if any) from the manufacturers that offer them.

Links to available bridges (US retailers):

Aquacomputer

EK fc-bridges

EK fc-links

Swiftech bridges*

(*These new bridges are unique and looks like they are universal in design. I'll do a bit more research but this will give a bridge option to folks that don't have a bridge option for their blocks.)

Watercool Heatkiller GPU-X link

Note: still working on a methodology to list these bridges, most notably is the EK offerings since there are many components involved. Any one else have any more info please feel free to post and I'll update the thread.

Looks promising, but there is a trick.
Not all mobos have slots alligned vertically, so problems may arise.

And it would look much better if you'd take ground pic of mobos (plenty online) and do examples over there.
More eyecatching.

just my 2 cents. thumbs up.

As I noted, just make your mb top pcie slot #1 (I'll increase the font size). This was a simple diagram to make understanding these bridges a bit better. I thought about doing mb pics but I think that will lend to more confusion.

edit: updated font size smile.gif

No, not all slots are left justified, but their is a uniform spacing in the ATX spec.

Looking good Wermad. My only recommendation would be to use the same mobo drawing on each of the pictures. It looks like some of the slot spacing is off, or maybe it's just my eyes? That's just the OCD part of me coming out thumb.gif

This. I created one template for the mb (I noticed the bottom slots are bit too close smile.gif). The bridge diagram was altered using my mad Paint skills tongue.gif

Hiya wermad. i was just reading a bit on them.I do prefer the Ek ones because i am trying to get everything to one brand Mostly .They speak of extra links needed .I am not sure what they are referring to.Also in your opinion would the parallel or serial be best?

Also i need the bottom fitting to exit the right bottom side not the bottom and from the pictures it seems the EK one has that option.I hope.

Thanks
