On a more serious note, congratulations on this accomplishment, it is quite hard to figure everything out like this...

Well considering oil is lighter than water, the water would sink to the bottom of the tank and start shifting things out. So not sure thats a good idea

we still need to do some testing with that. it ran for a couple hours at low load, but I have not done any actual testing yet. we are getting new batteries next semester too.

haha, they need to be shortened down to appropriate lengths, but no sleeve for this type build. I will probably work on that some next semester.

and thanks!

only for testing runs. we are waiting for some quick disconnects to come in so we can easily switch back and forth between water and air cooling.

nah, to much weight. boats over 110 pounds are penalized and boats over 140 pounds are disqualified.

you may! it is in there as an example showing that both can be used at the same time. We hope that we will only need the SSD and that the HDD will not be used during the competition. However there is only about 8GB of free space left on the SSD, and there was a rule added this year to the competition that ALL data that is used for navigation during the contest run must be stored as a file and submitted for judging. That includes a video file that contains all of the images processed by the vision code, which adds up VERY quickly. We are afraid that it will end up being more data than will fit on the SSD. We have not actually tested that yet though, so there is hope we will not need it still.

by the way onions, have you received the letter thanking you for your donation yet?
