ASrock waht wrong with you?

Hrm....as I only use this mobo for dedicated 24/7 folding I can't say I've had the chance to experience the many issues that folks are having. But has anyone tried to contact ASRock? Possibly we could draft an open letter to them linking back to this thread?

Thoughts?

Excellent! Everyone state their problems with the board and quote the previous statement regarding problems with the board. I'll summarize everyone's issues and write up a detailed and organized letter to ASRock, as well as post it in the Newegg review sections.

When I installed my EVGA GTX 680, my computer would freeze on the BIOS splash screen. I had to enable USB Legacy 3.0 in the BIOS for it to boot up properly. (Pretty sure it's the last setting under USB settings). The setting is disabled by default.

i had this otion enable since day One frown.gif so its not this Legacy 3.0. it is something else i'm sure and most of us has the same issue looks like the board wont have enough feed from psu PCI-e starting crap out at least with wireless card and my bravura sound card both are PCI-e.

I think we ma have found the problem in my case. A real shame though.

You're fine with what you have. I have a very similar setup and I monitor my wattage used with my Cyber Power control panel and I only use 115-120 watts at idle. At that includes the monitor, desk light and clock. One time I benchmarked my video card AND CPU at the same time to see how much max power I could possibly draw and it only hit 480 watts. Even playing a very intensive game I highly doubt you'll ever see over 400. At idle your setup doesn't use any more than a typical light bulb.

Dammit. That is weird. Let me load bios and see what I can find.

Update: Do you have advanced turbo 50 enabled? If so disable the hell out of it. Also, disable the option right below it.

Let me know if that helps.

I'm not real happy with the fan control. I mentioned this on the other Asrock thread...... I used to have an Asus MIVE and I really do prefer this Fatal1ty over that board with two exceptions. With the MIVE, if the fans needed to kick in it was instantaneous. On this Fatal1ty if I'm doing something like Prime95 it takes forever for the fans to ramp up to speed. Probably a full minute, and it takes just as long for it to come back down. The other exception is Asus has an excellent fan control. Instead of setting a level 1-10 and set a certain temp you could go into the software and manually configure any kind of custom profile you want. Set your graph and off you go. If you wanted fan speed at 50% at 55°, as soon as it hit 55° the fans would be at 50% instantaneously. And you could set as many points along the graph as you wanted. It seems to me that both of these issues could easily be fixed with a new BIOS release.

I am not happy with the fact that I just got this running and now there is a z77 out. That is crap!!! Other then that, I have not really noticed major issues.
