I got it recently, and it is good, but the latency put me off big time, I play guitar and the latency is a huge issue when I am used to playing like a metronome... But it is still fun playing along with some great songs. smile.gif

What platform? If you're playing on a PS3 or 360, use optical out, or even better use regular analog RCA out. If your receiver has a mode that doesn't do any processing (Pure, Direct, etc.) use that.

If it's on a PC, it's a little more complicated.

Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Rocksmith (or wherever you have Steam installed) and look for a file called rocksmith.ini

Open the file and look for MaxOutputBufferSize and LatencyBuffer.

Set LatencyBuffer to 1 and MaxOutputBufferSize to 1024. Run the game and see if the audio is distorted or scratchy. Just the Ubi intro music is enough to check. If the audio is scratchy, change the MaxOutPutBufferSize to 2048 and try again. If it's *still* scratchy, try bumping the LatencyBuffer to 2 and repeat.

If it sounds fine, lower the MaxOutPutBufferSize to 512 and try it. If it still sounds fine, lower it again. Find the lowest number that has clear audio.

On my system, with an X-Fi PCIe Titanium, I ended up with a number of around 148, and I can't perceive much latency (if any).
