Did Battlefield 3 break my pc?

Thread Starter
Hey everyone! I was eager to test out the beta and played for around an hour! It ran nicely and I didnt encounter any glitches ......great.....but ever since my cpu stays at 1.6ghz idle clocks and regardless of what load i put on it it remains the same! Ive ran prime95 , 3d mark 11 and passmark both giving lower scores confirming that turbo boost isnt kicking in!

Ive gone back to stock clocks but still the same :-( ive also noticed that my rear fan stops when the OS boots and stays tht way until open ai suite.

Im getting rather concerend now and ill appreciate any support on this!

Cheers

Have you tried resetting the cmos?

It wont be the game that done it, just sounds like the bios has messed up.

If you disable speedstep doesnt that turn off turbo alongside it? Ill reset the CMOS when im back home! Only had chance to "load optimised defaults" last night. I cant see what would have caused the.bios to mess up :-/

Not familiar with your board etc, but does your AI suite have the EPU stuff on it, mine got stuck in Power Saving mode and did a similar thing to yours.
Also check the EPU setting in your Bios isnt on power saving mode etc if you have the option.

Try putting it on High performance then, EPU controls also used to effect my fan like you described also as it has an option to keep Bios (and fan expert settings) or do its own silent mode which seems to stop certain fans at times.
