Overclock AMD Llano A4 3300M

Hi everyone,
Im a newbie here. I have a question.

Using K10stat154 , how will I configure in overclocking AMD Llano A4 3300M to 2.5 Ghz frequency?

Note: My laptop model is HP Pavilion g4-1117dx dual core Laptop. I currently update my bios to F.33 (September 2011 released)

My current maximum system frequency is 1.9 Ghz only.

Should I first go to overclock the bios set up before I configure in K10stat ?

Im very confused.

Thanks ahead.

The multiplier is locked on Llano APUs, We are waiting for a black edition (unlocked APU/processor)

I don't even think K10Stat supports controlling the APUs due to the different chipset among other things.

EDIT: Looks like I'm mistaken. Watch the cooling though.

Arrowslinger,

1. My concern is... is my laptop hardware safe to use for straight 8 hours in overclock setting of 2.5 Ghz?

2. or should I just set it in 1.9 Ghz (Normal Maximum Clock) setting ?

3. Most articles I read that overclocking a regular laptop is dangerous. How true is this?

4. Whats your advise?

Thanks!

Note:

The Temperature in 5 minutes of usage in 2.5 Ghz setting is 62 Degrees Celius or 143.6 Fahrenheit.

The Temperature in 5 minutes of usage in 1.9 Ghz setting is 60 Degrees Celius or 140 Fahrenheit.

My Laptop Specs:

CPU: AMD Llano A4 3300M (4 GB RAM)
GPU: HD 6410D

1.9 Ghz (Normal Maximum Clock)
2.5 Ghz (Turbo Core Overclock)

2. or should I just set it in 1.9 Ghz (Normal Maximum Clock) setting ? Depends on what you need it for, I noticed not much difference in 3.0Ghz and 2.5

3. Most articles I read that overclocking a regular laptop is dangerous. How true is this? temps are the key laptops get hot ALL OF THEM, our apu is rated at 100c so my advice is keep it under 80c and your good

1.9 Ghz (Normal Maximum Clock)
2.5 Ghz (Turbo Core Overclock)

Again depends on what you want to use your laptop for smile.gif
