What if I'm playing a game and my friend COMES online and I want him in my squad?

Do I have to leave the game to go to my browser and add them to my party?

No, they can (even currently in the beta) just join your party on their own; it's just that they might not end up in your squad and it's a wasted effort to even try leaving and rejoining squads until you land in the same one.

Ok. I tried leaving and rejoining with no luck so what you say makes sense

My brother and I queue up in the same party and end up in different squads and even once on a different team. Now THAT's what we want

I wish OCN would close all BF3 threads until Oct. 25th. We don't know what changes to expect until it releases so why be all doom and gloom that it's going to fail? Give it a chance. Buggy or not, I'm building a rig just for this game and will be playing it for the next 5-6 years no matter what.

Why should they be closed? Its a discussion forum meant for, well, discussing topics like video games. Kudos to you for building a rig for one game no matter what, but other don't have that kind of disposable income or the want to spend so much for one game.

Take what I said with a grain of salt. No I don't think we shouldn't discuss. But to have the general consensus be "bf3 is gonna suck" before it has a chance to prove the speculation wrong, is crazy.

In game squadding. http://geek.pikimal.com/2011/10/04/b...ad-management/

As far as VOIP goes....Ventrillo and Teamspeak have worked for everything else.

Edit: Most of my rig is 3 years old. I'm at the poverty line for the nation.

I have a good feeling DICE will end up implementing Battlelog directly into the game, where you can hit escape, click Battlelog, and it'll open right up in-game seamlessly. I HOPE that is the case, because THEN, Battlelog would work pretty well with party/friend management and will let us check out our teammates' or opponents' profile pages easily, maybe by double clicking their names on the scoreboard.

Sigh, so VIOP isn't in the actual game? So now I have to give three people my Ventrilo info if I want a good game, or do I have to schedule a time with my friends to have an enjoyable game.

This has to be one of the worst forms of DRM, I could take the server browser etc. but things like only changing settings ingame, and now this just take it too far.
