Please, do NOT buy a GTX 550. Just get a GTX 460. I've seen them as low as $160 not on sale so they do go lower.

Whys everybody hating on the 550 ti.

From what iv read il about halve the TDP of the card (so lower temps and noise), Its halve the price of a gtx 560 ti and according to those charts il be getting between 2/3 to 3/4 of the performance. Sounds good to me.

again its your money, if your not planning to do an excessive amount of gaming on it then it shouldnt make that big of a difference to you. dont let a fanboy/clubhouse geek tell you how to spend your money.

if worse comes to worse shuffel the feet around on the carpet, zap it and take it back...

Then go ahead and buy it. You wanted charts on the 550 ti vs 560 ti and I provided them. If you feel that the performance will be enough for you then by all means go for it.

Chears for the charts but id come across them before. Iv looked at reviews for other makes of 550 ti's and used Passmark, Geeks3D and HWCompare to compare the cards.

Its more the specific card (KFA2)that i cant find any info on, so i dont know what size mounting holes it has, if any good aftermarket coolers fit it or is it like my palit gtx 560 ti which is totally limited on what coolers can be used etc etc.

since you say you dont do alot of gaming on them i decided ill post these links for you. its a roundup of a few 550 tis. shows how they overclocked, also gave link for the DX10 testing on just cause 2, pretty good stats on highest settings. pretty underestimated in DX11 as well (still pushing 30+ avg frames in BC2)

your card should at worst compare to the lowest ranked one, which is reasonable, specially for the price.

http://www.hardwarecanucks.com/forum...te-msi-12.html

but again worst comes to worst, dedicated physx, or the electric slide. either one is a reasonable option.

You will be limited as to what coolers you can use. It's KFA2 which is a Galaxy brand. They always use custom pcb designs, but are fairly good just not well known.

Not sure on the specifics of it's mounting system though so can't say which might or might not work.
