Hey all,

This is my new build.. Everything came in on friday and I finished putting it together today. It was a lot of fun to build and was my first build since 2005. Heres the specs and some pics:

Corsair 500R case
Intel i5 2500k processor
Corsair H100 CPU cooler
EVGA GTX 570 graphics card
Corsair TX 750w power supply
2 x 4GB corsair vengeance RAM
ASrock extreme4 Gen 3 motherboard
crucial 64gb SSD

I installed the fans on the h100 upside down in hopes that it would pull air up and out of the case instead of blowing air into the case. Not sure if this was the best call for achieving the coolest cpu or not.. any thoughts?

Looking good. smile.gif Please for your own sake, set the memory in dual channel mode. 1 stick in first slot and 1 in third slot. wink.gif

Looks like a nice build. My only problem with the H100 is that you can get an XSPC Rasa kit for the same price.

I would mount it all the same way you have, looks awesome with that cooler you should be able to hit 5.5Ghz + I can get 4.9 on air!
but are the ram in the best slots ie one in each channel rather than both in one channel

Thanks all for the comments.. I moved one of the sticks of ram so its now in dual channel mode.

I also have been toying with the BIOS and attempting to find a stable overclock. The highest I've been able to get it is 4.6Ghz. I have the vcore set to auto with an offset of +0.075. I ran prime95 for an hour and the vcore stayed at 1.360V consistently.

I would like to get it stable somewhere between 4.8-5Ghz but when I try anything over 4.6 it fails ITB. The last thing I tried before turning it back down was setting the vcore to a fixed 1.45V with a multiplier of 48 which failed. I've read a lot of different opinions on where to stop increasing the vcore and decided I wouldn't push it past 1.45V to play it safe. Also, my max temp was 56 which seems low. Does this mean I have more room to play with?

Nice build. Are you planning on mounting any fans in the door? I know from experience that the front fan on Corsair cases is first off rather anemic and secondly almost totally blocked by hard drive cages.

A side fan improves GPU and chipset temperatures dramatically.
