Thread Starter
this ram http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231473 or this ram http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231456 would be better along with a 2600k, and i will be overclocking the ram the most i can.

just get the 1866mhz one. BTW how many threads have you created just for this?

What's your budget? Do you need a lot of capacity (more than 8gb)? Are you a bencher?

LOL, munaim! You should check this beautifull thread out:
http://www.overclock.net/intel-memor...e-h67-p67.html
IMHO, they should make this thread a sticky.
And the creators name and avatar are very similar to yours.
end (sarcasm);

You can't OC RAM much further than 2133 on SB. So if you get the 2133 kit, you won't be able to take the frequency much higher, only thing you'd be able to do is tighten the timings (which isn't as "important" as frequency on Intel).

So get the 1866 kit, I'm pretty sure you can hit 2133 with 11-11-11-30 timings (maybe even 10-11-10-30) @ 1.6v on them anyway. Thus saving you 50 buks

I rather doubt that you can get 1866ish RAM that high.
And no freaking way if you have 16GB!
Besides, SBs don`t benefitthat much from uber high frequencies .
If you look into this + the previous and following pages:
http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/mem...sandy-bridge/9
This article is also listed in munaim1's SB RAM thread.
Why do I know that stuff even though I don`t have a SB?!

I don't doubt it at all. My G.Skill ECOs (a supposedly low binned RAM) came 1600MHz 7-8-7-24 stock, I'm running them at 2133 9-10-9-28. 4 x 2GB. I haven't even upped the VCCIO. So I'm certain with an increase in VCCIO, I could run 4 x 4GB modules at the same frequencies, might have to loosen the timing a bit though.

SB benefit A LOT from high frequencies if you fold, which I do.

That's very impressive! Especially with that 5.5GHz OC Must be getting some nice numbers in benches.
Can't say I'm surprised about the RAM though
