The culprit is probably your PSU (Power Supply Unit). It's only 600W. Trade it in for a more powerfull and gold certified psu. 800-1000W should do just fine, preferably a 1000W so you can upgrade to crossfire/sli in a few years if your mobo supports it.
His psu is ok for it, the 6950 requires a 500W

thats foolish for a single, complete overkill for 6950CF

a good 500W is loads for a single 6950, thats what I'm using and it barely breaks a sweat with OCing CPU and GPU

have you looked through all the bios settings related to external GPU??, but you say it worked some before it was in the case

I hope you remembered to use the standoffs before putting the motherboard in the case. Did the card work when you built it outside the case?

Troll or joke ?

A 450W PSU could easily handle this system.

No, you do actually get people who think you should buy (even if you don't need that much power) a 1KW PSU and you're cheaping out if you don't.

Hey guys, im back.

So im going to double check my mobo stand-offs, but im pretty sure they're in the correct spots because i spent a lot of time double checking this stuff. Then im going to put the GPU in the 2nd PCIe slot to see if that works, it could possibly be a PCIe slot not working correctly. I'll update you guys once I do this.

Thanks for all the feedback!

okay an update:

the graphics card is working fine and i updated the drivers, however the card is in the lower PCIe slot. I'm going to move this back up to the upper PCIe slot to get x16 speed and see if that works If it doesn't, does that mean the mobo's PCIe x16 slot isn't working correctly?

+rep for those who helped me and thanks
